I make mascot characters for a living so I deal with several fur vendors. My primary vendor is Monterey Mills in Janesville, Wisconsin (608-754-8309). I would encourage you to order their sample packet, they have all sorts of wonderful furs. They only sell it by the 15 yard bolt, BUT you can buy Monterey fur by the yard from C.R. Crafts in LeLand, Iowa (641-567-3652). If you're looking for white fur to trim your Han Solo Hoth jacket I would recommend a style called Teddy Bear 361 White.
Another good source is Shannon Fabrics in Los Angeles (213-624-5252). Again, they sell by the bolt but they do sell a sample packet of their furs. You can buy Shannon fur by the yard from Fabric.com. Definitely take time to explore what they have.
