Fallout universe fan thread

I'm a Fallout nerd. I've been playing New Vegas all day every day since I got it. I love it! Ammo's a lot harder to find, so that's a pain, but it adds a sort of realism to the post-apocalyptic world.

Cap is 30.

Awesome! I'm level 15 and my stats are low. I have a few over 50, but not many.

Speaking of the south, I found something down there full of Reaver Ghouls who wasted me, Boone, and EDE in a sec!

So far I like it. I'm not going to say if it's better or worse than Fallout 3, it's just a different area. The only thing I haven't liked so far is no vault door animations. It's just a loading screen. That was one of the cool things in Fallout 3 with the loud alarm klaxon and screeching metal.

I've been buying all the ammo i can and tearing it down to make the kinds i prefer (.357, .44, 5.56, and energy charge packs). For me the caps are alot harder to find. By this time in fallout 3 i was so rich i didn't have to worry and now i can't even afford half the goodies i want. I didn't find those ghouls down south, i found a small army of angry robots and a ton of radiation. Well there is one thing full of ghouls that i haven't gotten to finish yet.

Yes yes that is and I will laugh if it pays off in another game. i've been working my way from south to north going from side to side of the map hitting every location and some of them aren't very important. Just seem to be places to visit with random animals to fight as a way to level up. I'm about halfway up the map.

Yeah I was notified last night that I've explored 75% of the map. I should start the main quest soon, but I will mod it so that the game doesn't end.

You running the PC version? Yeah i havent even entered New Vegas itself. I think i missed a ton of quests so once i get the guide i'll be able to preplay it. I started to investigate a vault but had to run it was so tough lol.

lol. My complaint is that some of these things on the map you go to see really are useless other than as things to explore for exp, i mean there usually isn't even items. I'd hoped for random oddball events in a few more but so far not much. I didn't get boone yet but i got ed-e updated thanks to the BOS. i still think they need to let you have a mr gutsy and one of the 3 wheeled security robots lol.

True but the PS3 Fallout 3 gamers got it worse for a while when they weren't even going to get the DLC packs.

for the 360 you hit the center button on the controller like you do to turn it on/off. then you hit left on the pad until it toggles one or two menues, you'll see "redeem code" or somethign like that on it. you enter it there

Pspspps. Didn't you read my other posts? I'm a PS3 user! But thank you anyways. :)

Funny story. I was searching and searching all over the internet trying to find out where to enter these blasted codes. Five pages of google search and many forum posts on the official website yielded no results. Wow. Something I cannot find on the internets!

Getting desperate, I finally resorted to looking around in the manual. When I took it out, underneath of it was a pamphlet for the "Classic Pack".

:eek

The classic pack? That wasn't on the eBay listing for this item! Obviously someone pre-ordered it at a Game Stop and didn't know the pack was included. If he did, I highly doubt he would have kept it at the same price since these packs go for a pretty penny online.

So yes! Not only is my Gabrielle Caravan packed, but also Classically packed! I was quite surprised that you could start the game with more than one packs worth of items. Certainly helped me in the beginning.

Again, thanks for the help!

lol. I never knew that either, all i got was a Tribal gear pack and i sold that asap as its useless. And i don't recognize any sony system that isn't backwards compatible lol

Two Southern hints:
1 - Middle South there is a crashed vertibird with a very nice toy (it's the horde of angry robots)
2 - Just east of there is an airfield. Minimal creatures, but worth a couple hundred caps.

Also - be sure to take ALL money you find - casinos take Ceasr/NCR/Caps/Etc. Exchange the currency for chips, end the conversation, then turn back and exchange chips for caps.

On ammo and weapons - repair is the most valuable skill in the game, especially early on. Pick up and repair all the weapons you can get your hands on. Find a gun (or two) that you like and exchange the other guns/ammo for preferred. There's an arms dealer just outside the strip where you can get a good deal.

Also, VATS, VATS, VATS. Human enemies got down a lot easier in this game, especially if you're accurate and have a half-way decent gun.
