Fallout universe fan thread

Seriously? Maybe after Fallout3, but there were no360 Fallout fans prior unless they were playing the PnP game. Fallout 1 and 2 were PC games, so the fanbase was built from there. There wouldn't have been a third game without some big numbers from the first two.

Yep, seriously. In business nobody cares about "the fanbase" it's what have you done for me today. With Morrowind and Oblivion, the tides shifted to the XBox as the cash cow.

Yes, the sales numbers of the first two games prove there was interest for another game, but it was sales of Oblivion that actually propelled Fallout 3 into existence - and of course the majority of those sales were on the XBox.

The funny thing is that the mini nuke is based on a real weapon they tested in the 60s.

Are you referring to the Davy Crockett mortar? "Davy Crockett" Nuclear-Capable Mortar photo - Ralf Brown photos at pbase.com The downside was that the guys firing it couldn't escape the fallout...

I don't know if this is a PC bug or not, but whenever I use the Cowboy Repeater occasionally it will freeze after killing something. It won't let you holster or reload for like 5-10secs. Does that happen on any other platform (or weapon)?

Also did anyone else notice the NCR soldier puking on the Gomorrah sign? I don't know if it only happens when you first enter or not (which is what I did last night). She had a NCR MP with her and he's telling her that he should contact her CO, she's a disgrace, etc.. :lol

Yeah it was the Davy Crockett. I couldn't remember the name of it. lol. I notice new little things every time i replay the game, i'm wondering if some of them are just set to be random. I also found a grave near the burnt Tribal village that has a nice with a luck bonus on it. sells for a good bit. I love my sniper rifles now lol. Anyone notice the 12mm gun looks like the bladerunner gun but without some parts on it?

In my first game I also had a thing where female NCR soldiers were dancing around in the Luxe fountain. I was entering another building so I didn't realize that's what it was until I read someone online talking about it.

BTW, if you're interested in the PC vs. console sales someone posted some numbers here about halfway down the page: Tim Schafer explains why Double Fine don’t do PC | PC Gamer
In a nutshell, without a big game release like MW2 on consoles, PC sales are right up with the 360 and in some cases surpassing yearly sales. There was a similar article in PC Gamer mag, but I can't find the issue at the moment.

PC gamers also tend to be RPG players or at least that's the biggest sellers at the local gamestop. Plus you can go to gamestop and get PC games on sale for like 10.00 lol.

Deckards gun is in the game. it is called "That Gun". It shoots 5.56 and does decent damage but only holds five rounds and seems a little slow on the relaod. I bought it at the junkyard outside of Novac(I think)

Yeah i have it but if you look at the normal 12.7mm it looks like the same gun but with a few alterations to the look.

You can also find it inside the closet in the Dinosaur at Novac.. only need to pick the locks.

lol. I went a bit overboard shopping last night at the BOS bunker. I have 195 lbs of mostly weapons out of the 250 lbs i can carry. I had an odd event. I went to the Follower's outpost and a group of ticked of BOS showed up because of Vanessa being with me, i wipe them out, yet the main base still is okay with me.

Good thing you killed them before they had a chance to radio back to base!

"Backup! We need backup!! We're getting slaught- zzzt"

One thing I noticed is that the game isn't doing that good of a job recognizing your character's gender.

First time I played through as a female and everything was fine. The second time I'm playing through as a male and the game is still reacting to me as if I'm male...

That's because you WERE male....:lol or do you mean that they act like you are a female?

Did you complete Veronica's quest? BoS guys confront you if you try to convince the Elder to change. Luckily I just recovered the Pulse Gun, aka Power Armor can opener. Usually this happens right outside the bunker though.

I haven't had that happen yet. The one thing I wish they would fix is have characters react to your equipment. Characters, Boomers for instance, call you a "savage" even though I had power armor and a Pipboy. The same thing happened in Fallout 3. Yeah I could have found that stuff, but I'm apparently smart enough and capable enough to use it. The only thing in NV that I noticed was when wearing a 1st recon beret some NCR soldiers will comment on it.

Actually no i didn't get that far yet, i still have to get the last mission disc. Before in my first play through he opened up the base and i didn't get confronted. This was when i went to see the followers and the BOS called her a traitor. I need to find a way to steal that pulse gun without getting caught when i get up there.

The pulse gun is in Vault 34 in a Very Hard locked case. The key may or may not be in Pearl's file cabinet. It's there if you are doing Veronica's mission; I don't know if it is if you are not on the mission.

I always hated going into vault 34 and i'm not sure why, it just annoys me. Right now i'm trying to find 2 blasted steam fittings to fix the food machine at camp mcarrin. you'd think with all the ruins you'd find them but its always every other part needed instead.
