i have the paper ones in a folder, but i'm not sure how to scan them onto my computer when all of my patterns are much much larger than my scanner...

You could take photo of them from straight on. Maybe someone could make them into a vector file that could be printed out in the different sizes.

The photo-vector route sounds pretty good. Especially considering it would need some tweeking to fit the different persons anyway.

my concern is that a top down photo may ruin the pattern, as if i'm off by even 1 degree, it would be incorrect, right?

oh, a friend put this together out of his photos..
try not to look at it too much, gives me a headache after the third time, its an animated gif.
