Fabs homemade Indiana Jones Props

Improvementtime :)
I've finally gotten round to weathering or reworking the five stones that are actually shown throughout the game, not just at the end.
Allmaker (ok only at the end but the most known one) and Earthsplitter are both supposed to be made of rock, so I chipped off the edges a bit which is easy with soapstone.
Sunsparker is supposed to be made of citrine, so I brushed it with some shimmering golden-yellow resin color and sprayed it with a few coats of clear varnish.
I did the same with the Wavebreaker. It's supposed to be made of jade, so I brushed it with three different shimmering greens before applying the clear varnish again.
I only clear coated the Deathmiser with clear varnish to bring out the original undertones a bit. It's supposed to be made of granite.

I haven't done this in quite a while and it took me 3 tries but in the end it worked out. :) I casted the Vatican Medallion a friend of mine sculpted in pewter. To do so I used oilsand. Afterwards sanding it a bit and treating it with burnishing liquid to make it duller. The weathering I did with acrylics and oil colors. It's quite heavy with 750 gramms, but it looks and feels beautiful.

Next I made my version of the medical bag in GC. A German WWII medical bag should be the referenz for the version in the game, just modified again. So I found a cheap one, stripped and sanded off the color roughly as it was painted and redyed it to make it look aged. Got rid of the two straps which normally are for attaching it to a belt and opened one side, as it genuinely is a closed bag. After doing so the whole thing came apart and I had to completely restitch it again. Then I sewed on the flaps for the sidelid and the interior and put some stuff in it. As well attached is the concept image from the digital artwork. The bags in the games are mostly filled differently.

Outstanding work!

Well this actually took longer than I expected. The diving mask from Great Circle. Bamboo lab released a tool that will be a game changer in the long run imho. (I'm not a 3D modeler. I haven't got the time and I have so much other projects with other more interesting procedures and materials to craft) Bambu studio has a tool which is called "image to stl". It is an AI based stl generator and oh boy it's really good. I made 3 files and combined them in meshmaker. One had a nice bag but a ****** mask. One had a ****** mask but a nice bag and so I worked with the files until I got a nice result. That being said I still made the mask with a printed corpus and covered it with leather to have a rubber like look and feel. The valve on the mask is from an stl I generated. The rest is metal. Painted with acrylics. Weathered with black hairspray.

Here's the Yaksha Idol from GC, which is found in Sukhothai in the side mission "A Study in Fear!" with Erika Lund. I created the file in Bambu Studio, printed it in PLA, and sculpted a few details with two-component resin. Painted with acrylics.

he LP sleeve from father Antonios record
you know, Lathe cut records are a thing. If you can find a company who isn't picky about music rights, you could have a real playing record made from the Jazz bonus tracks on the Great Circle Soundtrack album. Won't sound as good, but it's more the principal of the thing.

My friend Chris from Denmark got the record pressed. He will bring me one when we meet in autumn. :)(y)

Here a short video

And so wie did it. After 3 failed attempts I casted the Grafikos in bronze. The original model is from Rpreplik from Etsy on which I added and dremeled in the backside. Weight is around 2,5 kg.

Did you cast that bronze yourself? That's very clean! I tried to do it myself once but it came out abysmally. I think I didn't get it hot enough as my tank was running down on fuel. Would love to know more about your casting process!

Yes I casted it myself. It is really very straight forward. Key is making the casting form properly. The oilsand I casted this with is very good at transfering even tiny details. You need enough airchannels, they need to big enough and of course the metal needs to be fully melted. But with this one I didn't even heat up the form before, as the metal was running in through 3 massive channels. With plaster you need to heat up the form before casting as the form will tear without or the metal will cool down too quick. And here a short clip when I got it out.

Next up the or one of the ancient relics from GC. I printed it in pla, from here, put automotive filler on it and spraypainted it so the grey undertones still can shine through. Lastly I put some acrylic washes on it and two tones of fullers earth for the dusty look. But it's very hard to get all the different colors in a foto.

Here‘s the blind pendant from GC which you pick up in Gizeh. A really intense moment in the game
1f605.png
. I made a mold of a 3D printed piece and casted it in fast curing plaster. The frontpiece is yet printed and painted golden. Weathered with acrylics.

Here's another Vatican Medallion casted in pewter. The Original is a resin printed file from Eternal on 3DCults. So far my favorite.
