thanks guys jus need to sort out some clips and strappings and i can start putting the suit together! after that i gotta build the thight tops, thighs, shins, boots, (rebuild the biceps) and finally neck then i gotta get the helmet built outta card and fiberglass then paint then electrics and finally work out a bit so i look good under the suit =P

right i got the legs done entirely! will have pics soon jus waitin for my undersuit to dry so i'll probs have pics tomorrow! all i need now are the boots, to adjust the abs so they could fit a human =P and finally the neck! then i can start resining the helmet and adding the fiberglass!

Just wanted to post a quick simulation of painting variation :

theflash00.gif

thats freakin sweet! i was gonna make it aperture iron man but before i could my friend too the idea with my consent to do a drawing of it (concept only) he then photoshopped a suit and uploaded it to reddit without giving me any credit. so yeah bit sore about that

ok sorry im so late postin the pics but have been mad busy with college! none the less here they are thighs and shins! everything is all attached with clips from the waist right now gonna be building the neck and adjusting the abs tonight (hopefully) then move onto the boots and helmet outta card and prep for fiber glass resin and all that jazz!

lookin forward to painting its not far now!! =D

oh on a side note anyone know good tutorials on setting up the faceplate system and electrics? i know how to do the mechanical parts just not how to get it to work electrically any advice would be awesome!

hey, awesome suit. the extremis armor is one of my favorites from the comics. cant wait to see the finished product! if you have pep files, could you please post them? thank you

pep files can be found here under the extremis jfcustoms file

as for the shins and calves jf himself posted a much better version bout ten posts back go look for them they are gold! finally im building the comic helmet and there is no foam version if your using foam my advice use card or paper it'll be way smoother

and good luck man! link me your thread when you get started!!

i have a 5mm-6mm foam but its density is really low so it wont work too well, i'll try it anyway though just so we know!!

ive used 3 to 4mm foam for my helmets all the time i i always get great results anything larger then that would bend properly even using a heat gun. the trick to a good helmet is using several different types of foam for certain areas. llike for instance faceplats you always want a smaller mm foam like 3 or 4 cause you have to bend to contour it to shape. for the lip area below the face plate you would want to use lets says a 5mm to 6mm foams cause that area is raised details. other areas like the the hood scoop you want thins foam again to give it its shape and form the slope for it. these are just some ideas that have always worked for me. but as for body parts like chest back use thicker foam as it gives a rigid better shape. areas like the shoulders biceps and forearms i try to use a thinner 4-6m foam cause its the areas with most movement. legs always try to use a thicker foams cause those areas take a beating big time.

problem was a mix of too thick foam and way to high density then my only other foam was waaaaay to low density, like hot breathe would warp it!!

heres the helmet!! finally built gonna get teh fiber glass and all done hopefully this weekend or next week
