Extremis Iron man armour (comic not movie ) warning pic heavy

looks for a very interesting build mate will b folowing for sure

thanks took yesterday off from building parts to seal all those awful gaps on the arms with some pollyfilla gonna sand it all now and polyfill it again then i can start the abs!

well decided to be adventurous and did the helmet... and yeah its not good... the foam is just too thick for a fully curved surface like the helmet so im gonna remake it with card! but quick question after i make the card version how do i go about fiberglassing it for strength?

any advice would be great and i'll have pics of the helmet mess tomorrow =P

best way to help you out man is to suggest u go to youtube and watch one of robos tutorials he does an amazing description on how to do it properly :) type this in to youtube buddy itll have everything you need :)

TUTORIAL SERIES -How To Use PEPAKURA For Costume Building

i've seen them man but thanks anyway! nah the problem is once again im screwed for materials sadly ireland is completely devoid of anywhere that sells a thermocutter, heat gun or eva foam... =/ im building mine outta super dense 10mm nursery floor mats they're really thick and dense so cutting and shaping them sucks!! so think i'm gonna fiberglass the helmet anyway just for ease and usability and odds are it will come out smoother at the end

ahhhh well i use polyester resin and fiber glass matting to strengthen mine buddy it works a charm could you get that ?

If you can find 6mm foam or 8, that's the best for helmet. 4mm would be too thin. Some use yoga matt, or at camping stuff.

i have a 5mm-6mm foam but its density is really low so it wont work too well, i'll try it anyway though just so we know!!

ok helmet fail here we go! =/

i've moved onto card now so once thats done i'll post again!

Terrific, keep up.
This suit is likely to be the first of a long series.

hahaha you have no idea!! once this is done i have 7-8 more suits to do for friends and when they are all done i'm gonna make molds of all them so i can make plastic suits whenever i want! =D

If you have a rotary tool like a dremel there's a attachment that you could use to thin out th' foam pieces, let me see if I can find a pic of what I'm talking about brah. Keep up th' good work.

I like this build and the fact that it's the extrimis Armor and not the same rehashed movie suits

yeah my fave armour is the extremis and i thought with the films making such a balls at any attempt at it i may as well build it my self!!

on another note update i built the abs but they dont fit right probably seeing as the comic suit physcall can't exist! so imma make some adjustments to it so it fits right also hoping to start cod today so will have more pics later today or tomorrow!
