Eve from WALL-E Build

I got a little bit done this week end. I put some primer on the arms and started filling in pits in the filler and resin. Sorry for the grainy photo, but it am too tired to take a better one.

I also got the head sand down as far as needed to put some filler on it. I put a nice thin skim coat over the top.

Bondo takes forever to cure so it may be a couple days before I touch the head again. I should have the arms in a final primer in a few days.

Wow, great work! How are you going to attach the head to the body as it seems to float about an inch from the body in the movie if I recall correctly?

I am going to use clear acrylic rod to fasten all the pieces together. I have bored a 7/8" hole through all the pieces to insert the acrylic in to.

That makes sense, keep up the good work I'll be following this for sure!

You can expect the next few posts to be about bondo and primer. :)

I did get some more sanding and filler done on Eve's head. In the pic below you can see one slice of foam that is off center. I figure another coat or two of filler should get it just right. I hope to get it with just one and them some glazing putty. We'll see.

Her arms are just about there. I am done with filler and am just smoothing it out with primer now. There are just a couple pits in the primer that need to be dealt with. Wet sanding from here on out with these pieces.

I do need to bore the holes for the arm mounts still.

Before too long, I will need to place an order for the acrylic rod I will use in the mounts and some smoked acrylic for her face shield.

I have been working on a huge project in the shop (not prop related) the last few weeks and have been neglecting Eve during this time. Not to mention the multiple Christmases have not helped. I still have two to go this weekend.

Between all this, I did get the chance to finish prepping her arms.

I also have a skim coat of bondo on her head that is ready to be sanded. However, I just finished my other project and the clear still drying. Probably won't get to work on her head until next week.

Great build, I am curious what your plan for the electronics are as well.
