EVA foam sliding armor.

Hey guys! It has been a while since I posted. I have a question here that needs answering.

I am making a SW costume out of EVA foam. A Sith Lord from the Old Republic (heavy armor and such). I have made the Torso piece, but around the stomach area (starting from the last few ribs of the rib cage, all the way down to the end of the waist, I have these triangular pieces that wrap around my sides, and point directly down my stomach. I want these pieces to slide over each other when I bend over.

If you are having trouble picturing what I am wanting, here is a picture of another Sith Lord who has armor that will slide over each other :

Although, mine is not of the same desgin at all, the concept is the same. I was thinking chicago screws at the sides, held up by elastic? Anyone have experience in this?

if you can make that this will be sick!!! cant wait to see this. sorry i cant actually help no foam experiance. just wanted to say this is a sweet idea.

compression articulation is what i think youre trying to achieve. i think it may be tricky with foam ive only done it in metal and plastic since its tough and doesnt give at that first sogn of pressure

but google compression articulation and toy around with that and see how it works for you

There are guys here that have done that with Iron Man ab plates, especially I think those who have done the Mk V suit since it's so much more articulated anyway. I'm guessing a search for "Iron Man Abs" might help.
