ESB DL-44 scope mount bracket nut - Who can make it???

I got it. What's the width of that knurled area? 1/8?

So if I make these, they're going to be $11 plus shipping each. Who wanted one?

Vince,

The non-knurled section of the knob also has to be thicker. While the MR one is the closeset, it's still not right.

Chris,

There is some kind of spacer between the Mauser and the scope mount.

I believe some people have used a rubber washer?

Any idea how thick should that spacer be?

On the bobadebt kits (I just measured mine) there was a supplied aluminum washer/slug that is 1/4" thick.

I don't see why not because the knurling tool I have can be adjusted to swivel at an angle, but I'll definitely machine a prototype first. This knob looks a lot like a radio knob. They can't be that difficult to machine.

I've had a hard time finding CNC lathes, but the real problem is the number. Most of the machinests I've been in touch with want do make at least 100 units. I'm counting about 10 units so far. On top of that, by the time I gather the funds, make the purchase and wait on the machinest, several months have gone by. I can pump these out over a weekend.

Can you do angled knurling like that?
Can you CNC machine them?

I've used a 1/4" threading for many years. I think that started way back with the Hero blaster. We had theorized that a Hero knob was used on the ESB blaster, so the same size threading was used. If it helps, I can included some 1/4" threaded rod for a $1 more.

As for drilling/tapping the part, it's a very difficult process. You'll need a clamp and a drill press or hand drill. While the part is in the clamp, a tap can be used to create the threading. It's such a difficult process, I usually do the drilling and tapping on the lathe. It's the only way to keep round parts in place and to assure a centered/straight tap.

I can also drill/tap other sizes if requested. Just include that on your paypal "note".

I didn't blueprint this part, but I do have good reference for the original and could blueprint it.
If someone has the MR and can check the overall diameter that would be useful.

There are two problems with doing this part.
1. The knurling on the angled surface. I don't know if Russ, Rylo or whoever would have the necessary tooling to do that.

2. The center hole. Since this would be to replace an existing nut on everyone's blasters it would need to have the same threading. Either that or replace the bolt on the blasters as well, which could be difficult to do - mine is threaded into the Mauser body itself.
I think Corellian Exports, BlastTech and Bobadebt have all done these ESB mounting brackets. What is the threading for each?
If they are all the same then it would be easy.

I'm going to double check MR's measurements against pics of the real prop.
I want to make sure it's 100% correct.

Hey Vinca, I´d need a metric threading on my knobs...able to to this as well?
