It’s true Nostalgia supercedes in depth character development in most of Abrams movies. But I still can’t help but cringe when I hear The Emperor’s cackle.

Maybe the saber is JJs metaphor for fixing what Ryan did [emoji2373]. At least it looks new and not junky. (like she put some effort into cleaning it and making it whole/reverent)

They definitely are playing on that idea. They focus on the repaired saber, they show Ben's mask repaired......but I sense they have a trick up their sleeve.

Just from the quick look at it, I think it may already be her own. Just a new graflex style saber, not a repaired one. But, who knows for sure until the movie drops, or an art book comes out or something.

Got a shot of the clamp card from the Celebration Mural ROS lightsaber. Not sure how accurate it is. It seems to be a bronzish coloration. I'm not sure of the squiggle across the face of the card is what it actually looks like, or if it's just meant to imply a form of texture by the artist. There's also 4 rivets cornering the flat sides of the hexagon:
