Episode 7 F-11D Blaster Rifle (COMPLETE)

Sorry for the delay in updates. JJ had some family emergencies to take care of. It has occupied him for the past few weeks.

In the mean time, I have been working on painting a Phasma blaster. Here are all parts with a high gloss gray paint job. This is the first step in doing a chrome finish.

Then I used Alclad chrome to give it a nice shiny silver look.

Once it dries, I will do the black details, and then assemble it. Hopefully it will be finished this weekend.

Sorry the disappearing act, everybody. My father took a nasty tumble down one of those Peruvian temples while on vacation and I dropped everything until her recovered. He's doing much better now and I'm working on getting caught back up on late orders and missed PMs now. So if you sent me a PM since mid-December, please re-send it just in case and I'll get to you as soon as possible.

Once things are all caught up (which is looking like everything will be dealt with within the next few days), we will officially open the second run to the general public. Thanks for your patience and understanding,

~JJ

Welcome back man!

For those who've done this, where have you been putting the switches for the electronics?

Also, I'm sure i'm missing the obvious, but where does the washer go?

I actually meant to go into detail for both of those, but forgot to.

For the end cap, this is how the parts go together. This holds it in place, but allows it to still swivel.

This is what the LED kit looks like. There are two circuits like this. One to illuminate the magazine, and one to illuminate the Hengstler.

The LED circuits pretty much get crammed into the hollow sections, and the LED is positioned to shine through the holes.

I drill a slot in the bottom of the magazine (same for the Hengstler) and the switch sticks out slightly.

Hopefully that helps.

Actually, that helps a great deal :)

Hopefully this coming weekend i finally get to start working on it - spent the weekend cleaning the garage so i could setup a work space out there. :)

Great job on your blaster! I just finished my 3D printed blaster. It was a fun build.

I see (or at least it looks like) you drill the holes out on the base of the barrel. I thought about doing that for sound, but i've been looking and found some images that imply the holes are white...You can see it a bit i think in the shot of the speech where all the troops are lined up.

From the trailer....

I can't do frame by frame, but there's a time where you see 5-6 dots that are white.

I suspect on the hero props they were drilled out, but for the mass produced ones as in that scene, they painted them white.

Absolutely amazing JUSTINIAN
Please let me know when you do your next run. I can't believe how meticulous this process is and how amazing they look.

Anyone know if they did anything particular on the grips? I know there's a grip material in the kit, but would plasti-cote ore whatever it's called work just as well?
