Enterprise from Catspaw

I just would like to see everything on the ship parallel. Exactly halfway in the block would be great (though seemingly beyond their abilities), but there's no excuse for the engines and the saucer to not be parallel with each other.

I guess what I’m saying is some folks apply a level of critically that they let slide when it comes to what actually even made it on screen. I’m happy with my trinket. May you find your way as pleasant. That is, if anhedonia doesn’t prevent you.

This is very true. As I said a page back their description says BASED ON. So no one here should have expected an exact duplicate. I certainly did not. I expected a reasonable facsimile thereof. But a ship that looks like it's sinking or trying to get out of the block is not that. So i dont blame people for wanting to return them.

Agreed. I will say that I'm not sure if they changed it recently or not, but Factory's current description calls their model "screen accurate" and I'm not sure how they can say that with a straight face.

I still want one of these, and I'm hoping that if the QC improves it'll be a smaller risk of getting one that is poorly encased, but the first batch seem wildly inconsistent.

Haha. They actually use both terms.

"Details

Convention Exclusive Premiere Collectible

Based
on the Starship Enterprise miniature that was encased in crystal, as seen on the Star Trek | The Original Series Halloween episode titled Catspaw, this brand new limited edition 1:1 scale prop replica features a screen-accurate aluminum Enterprise miniature sealed in clear acrylic and a metal chain. Perfect for getting certain members of Starfleet to do your bidding."

Still just by looking at the pictures the miniature looks a bit sharper. But very close to the prop .Also the piece they used for the pics the enterprise was slightly crooked and off center. I notice that as well but still took a chance. I'm guessing most of these are gonna look pretty bad. I will open mine to make sure then I will probably just request a refund if they are really bad. I will just wait for an alternative to come around one day. Maybe ...lol

One last thought I have to offer in this thread is some yutz on Ebay was selling one of these for $200, made me an offer to buy it for $190 before it sold for an undisclosed best offer, and has now relisted it for $222. Next time I see him at some Trek event, I'll have to congratulate him on his "entrepreneurial spirit". And some of you guys are crucifying FE for charging $100. :)

Yeah, if I paid that much for it, I think I'd like it less.

Replacement arrived. Better but still issues. It's set deeper now. Good. the nacelles are straight, Good. But it's still slightly nose up, better then my last one though but much like others. But now it's noticeably slightly turning to port. The pour line seems more pronounced so you get a bit of a problem of viewing the entire ship properly through that plane from certain angles. Oh well. I'll keep this one but "It is what it is."

Agreed. I'm not happy with the pour line but.... I rarely view it directly from the side, anyway. Viewed from above I don't see it. I really wish the factory could have had an alignment tool so that each could be perfectly straight...but they chose not to do it that way.

Maybe send out the returns at full price?

Haha. Maybe.....

On another note....I just got mine in...and no one hit me.... but mine are almost perfect ...both are level and at a good depth. The only flaw I see is on one, it has a nacelle that looks a little bent not as parallel to the ship. But the other one both nacelles fine and it's almost centered perfect etc.

Love the packaging...
