Enterprise Bridge (adjusted for DST action figures)

Dr. McCoy, that actually is EXACTLY what I have decided to do! I ran out of styrene about a week ago, and so have switched gears to detailing and finishing what I have constructed. It's a great way to re-evaluate my approach thus far to make sure I like how things are progressing. There were a few mistakes that I have made, and I hope to smooth the process for the remaining modules. Besides, I've crafted 5 Burke chairs in styrene that will have to be built up...that alone will be a project in itself (though a lot cheaper than creating molds and casts...and probably just as quick with the method I've devised).

Stay tuned for updates shortly...I've made progress but need the time to upload the photos.

Thanks for the kind feedback everyone.

I've shown my dad this post, since he's a TOS ST fan. And he's impressed with the amount of detail you're putting into it and the accuracy of the bridge. Both he and I are looking forward to seeing the pieces of the bridge you have detailed.

Thanks CB2001! Always cool to hear that someone out there thinks I'm doing a decent job.

Okay, here's the latest:

Burke Chairs...flatter than the originals, with with a bit more work and love, will at least cut the right silhouette:

That's it for now! Comments and crits welcome.

Full disclosure: the decals are googled images that I have been amassing for a couple of months that were resized in microsoft word. The astrogator display was the hardest...I believe the image I used actually came from someone here, but I found it a while back through an image search and could never find the source again...so I apologize for not properly citing its origin. I really wanted an image from the show of the astrogator, but for the life of me could not find one that was decent quality enough. The smaller display screens along each station were essentially culled from a lot of photographs from dozens of sources, cropped and resized and then affixed to thin pieces of white styrene. They were printed on clear water slide decal sheet.

For the overhead display screens (with the exception of the multicolered line images), I looked for pictures of nebulae that would work. The planet image above Spock's station is Talos IV from The Cage/The Menagerie.

I know the details are imprecise in places and lack a certain pro finish, but to me it serves a purpose...a great display for my figures.

That is incredible! Thanks for sharing the photo's and it goes without saying,

Outstanding job.

Awesome job :eek That last pic looks like a scene from the actual show. Really nice, as a ST Fan my self you leave me speachless.:thumbsup

Very cool. I had the AMT kit too and man it was a bugger. This is what they should have made the kit look like.

Showed this to my dad last night when he got home. He said, "Dude, that is even more awesome! It looks just like the actual set."

...
I really hope I have the fortitude to finish this...I'm a little scared about all of the screens and buttons and junk.
...

Looks like you pulled through :p

Really inspiring, very nicely done! The only things that could improve that diorama´s quality now are a few blinking lights and working screens. But IMO the cake´s sweet enough without any additional icing, I´d say ;)

Now where´s that alien environment? :p

This is awesome, I love it! I made something similar when i was younger with styrofoam, posterboard and plastic dixie cups for chairs LOL wish i had pics
