Thanks again for all of the kind words. And while they may not be perfect, AA/DST figures are an improvement over the Playmates ones...yikes!
I've done the basic construction of the next bridge stations, and have even puttied, sanded, and primed the environmental and engineering checkout station sections!
The last section to be constructed will be the viewscreen and flanking portions of the bridge.
Thanks so much fellas. The words of encouragement definitely help keep the energy level up.
Small update: the viewscreen portion has been roughed out, so I now have the full bridge circumfrence, half of which is close to being complete. It looks like a big donut!
A few things that I have learned: The ends of each slice of the bridge should be one piece...I have not done this, which means I've ended up with gaps between the sections. Also, I really should have planned each module so that the whole banister/hand-hold/whatever thingies would be complete to each section. As it is, I'll have to recreate the partial one I have built in front of Spock's station and perhaps design it to be a removable piece. The viewscreen was the last section I built, because I figured it would the easiest one to add or subtract whatever dimensions I frigged up. As a result, the flanking walls on each side of the screen are too wide.
I have purchased a piece of plywood 32" X 32" that I'll cover with grey carpet and edge with molding of some sort. I may mount it to a table or something...I dunno.
You should get a cheapo media player and install it as the viewscreen. Then you could put a loop of Balok gibbering away, or klingons off the stbd bow!
