Endo Arm Owners - Glass Cylinder (pics added)

Found one at Michael's recently -- correct height, big enough diameter, good price ($24.99; I got one on sale for $14.99)

Problem is that the diameter is just a bit too big, and would require a slight modification to the base.

I think I saw the same thing... ;) was it a vase? I was thinking about the Alien stasis tubes but I didn't think the glass was optically clear enough. Too much distortion.

Got any pictures of what you got?

More ... more! :)

Any pics? I think I'll hit Michael's tomorrow and see if I can find one as well.

Re: Endo Arm Owners - Glass Cylinder

I'll try to get some pics later. It is glass and slightly wavy. I can't really decide if I like it over the arm or not...

As is, the tube would rest on the widest portion of the base, making it too short.

My first thoughts are either adding a ring to siden the narrowest (and highest) part of the bast, or addind a larger diameter acrylic disc to the top surface of the base.

Not bad. I like the acrylic-disc-at-the-bottom idea but where would you find such an animal ... hmmmm ...

Yeah something like in the image below. Have a hole drilled in the center for the arm's mounting ost. Hell you could even work out a way to add LEDs, but that would and complexity.

Great idea....I was looking at those but Paul had about 20 cast acrylic tubes left that were made for these SS arms. Not bad for $75. Flamed and routed tops too.

Good find.

Taz, does Paul still have any of those left?

And Michael's is the same as Hobby Lobby, right? I might have to go take a look this afternoon.

I bought a fairly inexpensive tube at TAP Plastics. Sold by the foot. It was probably under $75.00.

I went to Hobby Lobby on my lunch break and found the glass vase, $29.99 not on sale. :(
Hobby Lobby's website is sporting a 25% off any item at regular price, so that helps.
http://www.hobbylobby.com/site3/weekly/coupon.cfm

Dims: 5&1/4 inches across inner diameter, 19.5 inches tall.

And the "one" that I looked at didn't have the ring distortion like that seen in PHA's picture.
