EFX Mandalorian Helmet Season 2

According to EFX's website the PCR helmet is currently on the boat from China to the US. I don't expect the final product to be any better. Guess we'll find out in the next couple weeks.

I don't know what this weird weathering is on top of the rear vent, but it's a bit worse than the prototype.

Well, after waiting patiently Sideshow delivered. I was fortunate enough to be taken off the waiting list and order this piece after many people canceled their orders. I was skeptical since both the Season 1 and Season 2 Mandalorian Helmets had issues, which prompted many people to return or exchange their helmets.

My initial thought was that it was packaged pretty well. I know many people had issues with the helmet itself though. I suppose I got lucky because the visor has no cracks, the mandibles are aligned well, the Mohawk lines are straight, the ears don’t appear to be messed up, and overall the paint is pretty good. You can see two small smudges on the paint above the visor and on the right mandible there’s a weird paint effect that almost looks like a scratch but isn’t. On the left cheek there’s a barely noticeable overspray and an almost dripping effect where the top coat dried. You can only see these in a certain light. After taking photos and examining it in certain lights I’ve decided to just keep this one. Overall I’m extremely happy despite some of the paint issues. If I wasn’t on this thread I probably would have never had the awareness to notice the small issues - they’re that unnoticeable. I’ll consider an overall satisfaction rating of 8/10 a win! Now back to factory new conditions with my Master Replicas lightsabers until I one day have a Star Wars room!

The PCR page on EFX's site says they've arrived in stock. I've just talked to Sideshow and they said they're expecting it any day now and plan to ship pre-orders as soon as they arrive.
Got an email from Sideshow this morning saying PCRs will ship in the next two weeks

I got my tracking number from Sideshow a few days ago. I'll take some pics when it arrives but man that one looks good, the lines on the brow and mohawk look a lot sharper than the LE. Hoping the ears are removable. If they can be replaced then it'd be damn near perfect

Got my PCR Mando helmet from Sideshow today. Definitely quite a few notches down in the quality department from my Master Replicas Boba Fett bucket. I get that it's a slightly less "premium" version, but the paint is sloppy and it just feels cheap. Definitely doesn't seem like a $500 item.

Pics?

Pics of the EFX PCR helmet. Deciding whether to try to repaint the "weathering" or return. Leaning towards returning.

Oh wow especially on the back vent, looks like they didn't even try :/ details look sharp tho, shame the paint is so lackluster, I'd love to see one of these properly repainted

Pretty sure I saw in another thread somewhere that the weathering on the old one could be removed with rubbing alcohol without damaging the paint. Wonder if that would work here too? Honestly think it'd look better without it

I got mine today. Besides the bad paint job and terribly inaccurate ears I’m really liking the helmet.
The features are crisp and it looks overall to have a
more true to the original appearance. I might try to deconstruct the helmet to replace the ears and give it a proper paint job. Then I think it could be my ultimate Mando bucket.
I really hope it will be. I’ve collected every version of Anovos, Denuo Novo and EFX LE and wasn’t very satisfied with any of them. The PCR seems better to me.

That's exactly where I'm at. Paint can be redone and *hopefully* the ears can be replaced, but the important thing for me I think is the sharpness of the details. It sucks that the paint isn't great but at the heart of it it still is an injection molded replica of the original master. Remarkable base for a summer project. Maybe not worth the $500 though. If Hasboro can pump stuff out like this for $100 it really leaves me a bit baffled as to what exactly it is we're paying for.

Your paying to keep them in business. But I agree. It is overpriced at $500. I would be surprised if production costs were more than $35-40 per helmet. If those lower ears could be replaced (I can't see why they wouldn't be able to) then it could be a really nice helmet. I got both my EFX S1 and Denuo helmets for around $500-600 in the secondary market so it makes this look really really really overpriced.
