Absolutely sure. No pic of tricorder. Just the words "Starfleet Mark IX Science Tricorder... coming soon!" And then the row of pics of the Star Wars items. There's a blank box next to the Mark IX announcement. I tried clicking in the box -- gently at first, then somewhat violently -- but it didn't do anything.

Info at the bottom says expected shipping date will come in December, for those of you interested.

So what are your theories as to how long it will take to sell out? Think it won't?

I was expecting to be over and done by 2pm EST, but it looks like it will be a little while.

Hope you guy got in early...the free gift is a holster! I have more details to post later but I have to wait so I don't have to type it all out on my phone. I can't access my order number on the phone but I'd be willing to bet I was one if the first since I reloaded and reloaded till the buy option popped up. Got a little slowed down because I didn't click the terms and conditions first time around. The first order snuck in last night when the new site went live. Also, they are not shipping in order of when you purchased. All of us within the first 250 will have somewhere between 1-250. That's just how they ship from the factory.

That was in the eFX Newsletter: "The first 250 people who pre-order on our website will get a special bonus!" I guess if I pre-order by phone, I'm out of the running for the bonus... but at least I'll get a Mark IX.

Hmm. That doesn't necessarily mean that the first 250 would ship then but man, a holster AND having it a month or so early would be SWEET. Anybody else have more info? I'm not sure an "acrylic cover" means a wearble holster though.
 
According to eFX's website, they should ship sometime in December. Of course, I'm not going to complain if they want to ship the first 250 out in October with our free gifts. I'm aslo hoping that the free gift will be the acrylic cover. I was hoping to order one when I ordered the Tricorder, but they don't have a listing for it yet.
 
That's what I don't understand, MR was going to put this one out and no holster and now EFX is taking it over and no mentioning of a holster either. One would think that a holster for it may increase sales.
 
It's a good chance it is the acrylic cover because when I placed my order it wasn't an option to add to the cart, it's not even listed in the store.

I just got off the line with Bryan. Toll-free numbers are not toll-free when calling from outside the US; they are charged at regular international rates. But it was worth it. :D

Brian said that one other person, on Rebelscum, reported the same problem that I've had.

Then he took my order manually. :thumbsup

Not sure whether I'm among the first 300 -- I guess I should have switched to the telephone sooner -- but at least I got one. And I had the pleasure of speaking with Bryan, a very likable guy with a good sense of humor. I might add that he recognized my name immediately from my past purchases. This impressed me a lot.

I give less credence to the info in that early article especially after the deposit went from $75 to $100. December is better than nothing but it's not as good as November. MR traumatized me pretty bad, so after reading that the $100 deposit is not refundable made my stomach turn.
 
That's great Temponaut!!! I was nervous for you. After the heartache and frustration I felt after MR cancelled, I didn't want anyone to experience that. Glad to hear you got one!!!

Not asking because I'm in protest over it, just curious. Why have they made $100 deposits non-refundable? Is it so that when a majority return their items that it won't be regarded as a total loss?

I dunno. Not protesting either but if these things don't arrive that's a cool hundred grand for putting up a website and a pic :lol

Honestly, I think it's to cover the costs they had to pay to buy the tooling and what not from MR and or the factory before even thinking about making a profit.

I had no problem with it since it was pretty clear. I couldn't purchase one without reading and accepting this as a condition, so my choice. Besides if they pull this off it's quite the proverbial rabbit out of a hat.
