This helmet is softer in a few features. I've been too lazy to put the replacement one on. I'm a slave to installing wood floors at the moment, but it is on my agenda....LOL. Ignore the helmet, just focus on the scheme itself. Don't you know, Vader mannequins can never be finished..he he.

That explains things. Still like the DJ look better and it would work well with the idealized. The odd paint scheme would probably annoy me a lot.

A good example of how black and gunmetal can appear the same is right in my straight on face shot. The front cheeks both look gunmetal in that shot, though one is black. Single photos can be so misleading. But if you look at all three photos, it clears up the color mystery pretty nicely. It's still hard to see the exact scheme of the tusk tubes because it's in shadow under the dome.........but I got that information from a source where the dome was not in place. It was pretty eye opening and it caused me to make at least 10 changes to what I believed was an accurate ANH paint scheme.

I agree. It was the same with the DP deluxe. I tried to ignore it for so long, but within a couple days, it bugged me to no end.

Question from a casual Vader fan - Vaderdarth's helmet has that "really effing mean" look to it that I LOVE about the Tantive IV scenes. The eFX pics so far are taken from a low angle, so I'm not able to tell - will it also impart that low-riding pointy-domed scowl?

I think that if the factory maintains the structural integrity (no warps or droops), this helmet will absolutely rock. Especially with a custom paint job.
Wonder how many unlicensed helmets are gonna pop up in the JY. :lol

Well, the paint thing has me all confused now. Back to the hi def screencaps with me! I'll be looking. It does seem in some that Dave is right. The gunmetal and black CAN blend together. Like I said, I'll be digging up screenies.

Exactly, they used a gray primer which is the first error. If gloss black had been under the gunmetal as it was brushed.......the effect would have been stunning in the areas that the scheme was correct.
It's just a necessity that some of the blobs have to come off. I mean they have to market these things to the general public. Most of the public will hate the hand brushed helmet up close......much less a bunch of blobs and divots found on the original.
