EFNY Snake Plissken Boots

Gang,

Ok, so I'm headed out to the Tampa Comic Con in a few and just wanted to snap a few pics of the footwear I will be sporting.

This is just your typical run of the mill High Point Alpinestars. I searched for months for someone to make the kneepads for me locally and in this country, but everyone I spoke to denied me. I never understand why people don't want to make money.

Anyway, I found a nice guy in Canada who does leatherwork and dabbles in leather upholstery. That was the key, the kneepads are not just leather, but more of an upholstery job! It took him awhile and it costs a couple hundred bucks, but he made them for me AND stitched them expertly to the boots for me. He also said if anyone is interested in purchasing a pair, he would lock in the price @ $225.00 (shipped from Canada). Let me know if you want a pair (he doesn't want a zillion emails and asked if I could handle any orders for him).

Also, I may have found a board member who can make the Plissken Shin Guards for a comparative price to what we've seen in this thread! We may finally have our shin guard source for these boots!!

Thanks, bdude, I appreciate it. At least 3 people at the con made Snake or Escape references to me. A few people who had NO idea what boots they were, liked them as well. I think they are the roughest boots ever!

They are looking NICE. Just wish that the kneepads weren't as much as the base boots themselves. And it looks like the shins will be more. But dang if they aren't cool.

Trust me, I agree. If anyone finds a cheaper kneepad source in the USA, please let me know, but at this point, the Canada leather upholstery guy is the ONLY game in town for quality!

The Motor Cowby's boots will need WAY too much work. It's nice that they are available, but over $600 for the BASE boot? You still need to get a Shin Plate AND buckles, etc... it's a lot of work.

yeah i know it's a HUGE hassle! i don't see why it can't be offered with buckles or plates, but i've come to make peace with that. i have the ability and materials for the plates and buckles, and the Shrader boots i was having made BLEW by way of accuracy, so i will most likely be going with the motor cowboys, but their pics on the sites are just awful and don't really show much of the detail. i'm waiting for CHROMIUMOXIDE to get his, and see how they look before ordering. sounds like they take FOREVER though.

Super nice man. Love, love that lot. Just wow. You got everything.

What size are your Motor Cowboys btw? Might be interested in your old stuff.
