EFNY Snake Plissken Boots

actually, the cable bales can be done by yourself. google micro tube bender. they are these little spring-like tools that bend mini tubing. i got the tubing from the hardware store around the corner from me and am getting the cabling from here...

Spearfishing Coated Cable & Crimps

then just crimp them with pliers or the like.

That is great info! I've got those links saved for when I get my expensive accurate boots done down the road.

Magpie9, What are the dimensions of those buckles? I have 3 pair of ski boots with similiar buckled but I think thay are smaller. I'm thinking of using that plumbers metal to make the buckles stronger. I forget the name of the material but it has to compounds that when you mash them together the material heats up and hardens. Please let me know so I can tell what I am getting myself into. Just the length and width will do.

Thanks!

So anybody who has Alpinstar conversions instead of customs...how did you make the kneepads look right? By my measurements, the Alpinestars are about an inch-and-a-half short so I'd have to make the kneepads way taller than the movie ones.

These boots scare the fu@k out of boot makers. I have talked to three different boot makers face to face to flat out said "No" and the third said he have to charge a minimum of 1500.00 to make them, if he wanted to try, and then said he did not want to. What happened to the sense of adventure?

Dude, I can just see the dollar signs on all that. I think you have more invested in that than I do in a full set of Halo Armor and I gotta say I find that very impressive.

So how much are you in at this point? 2k? 2.5k?

Makes me sad to post my $50 guns. Where did you get the MAC 10? Marui one or something else? And what about the rear strap, do you have a source?

dude, those guns are awesome!! I made mine actually. It was a clear airsoft Mac-10. Painted it, then chipped it and added very little fuller's earth. The suppressor's made of 1 1/2 " PVC tubing and 2 ". The sling I got from ebay/ they are always on there and are pretty cheap.

Yeah man, this costume has been the most expensive costume ever. I have a complete screen accurate Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters, & Jason Part VI and none of them have come close to this. With the wig and the rest of the custom holsters... I'd say 3 K. But it's worth it.

Yep, made mine too. Just they were $50 in parts when I was looking at a proper Chief's Special chromed airsoft base pistol for $110. Paid $30 for the Mac, $12 for the pistol, $2 for the PVC, $7 for the air rifle scope so the thing wouldn't shatter when I fired it. Well, $49 and change but you get the idea. I'm really trying to scrape it all together for $400. Looks like I will if I don't count the too small Hipoints I wasted $120 on before I got the nice ones on here.

I'll check ebay for the sling. I had to go with the Mac 11 since the Marui at $300 was a little out of my starter costume price range. But you know, I just did a double take reading through here again and I think your gun is a Mini Uzi instead of a MAC. Might want to double check on that.

Love seeing your awesome build though. Lets me see what I want to upgrade once I get the initial set together.

Absolutely stellar work, CHROMIUMDIOXIDE!

While this thread has been about boots, I wanted to mention something, because of the amount of effort at accuracy that you've put in. The "Mac-10" that you are showing is actually a Micro Uzi. The sloped back of the body is the giveaway for the Micro Uzi.

I'm not trying to be an ass, just want you to get the most accuracy where possible. I've noticed a lot of website are labeling them as Mac-10's when they shouldn't.

I don't know how much issue with having airsoft items shipped to Canada, but here's a place selling it for a really good price: M42F MAC-10 Airsoft Gun - Toy-Gun.com

There was a toy cap-firing version made in the 80's with a screw-on suppressor (not accurate to EFNY) that I own, as well as water gun versions. Unfortunately, those likely run fairly high on Ebay.

And where did you get the scoped pistol/holster from?

Just trying to help...

No offense taken. I totally appreciate it. The problem is, living in Canada, they are simply not allowed into the country. Very strict regulations on airsoft rifles. This was a clear one that I bought that did pass regulations. I've tried several means already, but to no avail. One was even stopped at the board. replicas are forbidden and it's a real pain in the ass.

The UK makes a baby blue and pink Mac 11 with an orange barrel that might work. Looks very much like a kiddy toy. But it's the same model as the black one I bought for mine.

Probably would be about $40-$50 to roll the dice though.
