Nick, all your hard work is really paying off, this will be some kit when done & when it is done there will people knocking on your door mate. What was your address again????

Re: Echo Station 57, we're on our way....slowly

If you can get some of it Stateside its worth trying out. I can see it being a great way to do the A-wing hulls :)

Thats a great idea Nick because the the lower hull is thin, this will allow you to keep it thin and strong, as it has to fit into the top hull and almost vanish at it's edges where it meets the top hull's edges.:thumbsup

Re: Echo Station 57, we're on our way....slowly

Hi folks,

Here is a quick pic to give you an idea of the number of parts involved in this thing. Final count is probably north of 97...which is waaay more than I had originally hoped for at the outset of the project. Gulp...

http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn256/Gort_99/T-47 Studio Scale/Full_set_casts_s.jpg

I just realised I forgot to include the canopy hinges, but I've shown you pics of those already.

I'm going to try and actually build one up next, not to any great display standard but just to check it works out ok and of course do an instruction sheet etc. Then I will start to contact my list in groups of 5 as I want to break it up into manageable chunks.
I will also need to do a final tally on costs. I've said for a while that I want to keep around the $400 mark, and I still hope I do, but I've spent alot more on silicone and materials than I planned in order to make the hull moulds and develop kit, which has been part of my learning curve.
At the end of the day I would rather sell less and cover my costs than kill myself and take a big hit.
Anyway, I don't plan to drop any massive bombshells costwise but just wanted to warn you guys in case my numbers don't look good.

Updates will follow again soon.
