Eaglemoss 2 foot Enterprise D

So set up to start phase 7 today and kit 23 was missing but I have two kit 24s so.... another call to customer service to ship out the missing kit grrrr. Obviously simple shipping error. At this rate extra parts will abound

Phase 7 and 8 are done. These kits came with more upper hull panels and the bottom and one side of the battle bridge is now completed. I also as well have the battle bridge gap that folks have been pointing but, I am not concerned as it will be displayed whole. Eaglemoss has been a challenge lately. In kit 7 they gave me two of the same part and shorted me one that I needed. This week they double charged me and sent me another Phase 8 with a book from the 3rd Phase YIKES! Phase 9 is in the mail. My wiring under the hull is like a hurricane spaghetti model but it works better this way when you are joining panels. I will sort it out with small proper wire ties when I'm done with one side.

Phase 9 is done! Main pieces in this kit was finishing off one side of the cobra neck and adding the 2nd pcb board but this one is the largest main PCB boards so far to run power under the main hull saucer section. The other smaller PCB board went in the cobra neck in an earlier phase. There were other hull pieces in these last two phases built but are apparently for other phases yet to come. I did not put the other pieces in the pictures because who cares until they are attached.. right ?

So my impression so far. Fun kit... The master modelers of "which I am not" are complaining about light bleed. Lack of an upper beacon, are painting different areas and such. For me I think it's a good model but it's FAR from perfection. I also see all that as well. Aligning the edges take finesse, the wiring routing instruction are close but you may have to reroute to get the panels to match correctly. I had a struggle getting the the screws into the metal superstructure for the first side of the cobra neck but my advise is just to slow and steady. GC

Definitely light bleed all over. Looks like a bottle or two of black Tulip fabric paint is in order. :)

Get a bottle of liquid electrical tape. Its made by Plastidip and works well for light bleeding. I used it on both my Deago falcon and 1:350 Enterprise. Im sure you have seen this, but there is a guy who wears a TNG shirt who is building this model on YouTube. Some good tips and tricks. Here is a link to the liquid black stuff....its like thick flexible tape. Paint it on the inside after the windows...and your set.

Ordered !

Phase 10 is done. Although I am beginning to sound redundant.... more decking was in this phase partially and the last phase 9 that you built and simply put aside. The underside of the cobra neck hull is done and the starboard green beacon is now in it's position. All that is needed on the cobra neck is one side panel. While that side panel came in the phase 10 kit..... there must be something else needed as the final assembly of the cobra neck were not in the instructions I believe it's the back panels for the lights as a couple of pairs of lights are left to install. The hull panels have started on the aft section now as well and more front edge hull sections on the fore side. The binder now only has two slots left for the build books so obviously this is going to have multiple volumes. GC

This is World of Wayne's website on his build. It's pretty helpful. I am WAY behind on putting mine together.

World of Wayne's website is actually: http://www.worldofwayne.co.uk/
It redirects to his YT channel.

The myenterprised.com site is actually from a different builder who is doing his own instructions and mods.

Both are terrific resources.

Stage 11 and 12 done. I fought fitment on a hull panel for more than an hour in stage 12 but finally got it to fit. The cobra neck is finally done and new hull panels abound. There was an addendum in stage 12 replacing the color of the bussard collector and the upper navigation light was changed from blue to red. Also a diffuser was added to the nacelle and the lighting kit. Today's two kits were an exercise in patience but I am glad they are done. I looked at Wayne's model and his fitment in the cobra neck is about the same. It's a model and it is what it is. The 12th stage came with another PCB board now mounted about the center of the saucer section. There is a lot of refitment that needs to be done to get the best result between the hull panels.

Ok stage 13 done. Normally I get 2 kits of 4 pieces each month. This month.... I'm sure because of the holidays one kit has not shown up yet. So a more few panels, more windows and a little nacelle work with this stage. However, I just layed the bridge section on top of the saucer section for the heck of it. Two hull pieces built were just layed aside for later which happens quite a lot with this model. The upper saucer section should be done soon. In the nacelle this stage just added a few diffusers but not much to show there yet. I hope you all had a great Christmas and will have a Happy Prop filled New Year.
