E-11 from real sterling display company question

On the first view i noticed

- made from cutted Sterling part-sets ... and that not the best way, the marks are still visible

-the real scope is a wrong one, only marginally matching the look

- the Hengstler has no cage ... is it sure they deliver eagle ones with every order?

- no disabled bolt, just a plain steel inset (tube or massive - weight? They say around 9,5 lbs, the original is under 6)

- strange mounted scope rail

- what did they use for the mag-cylinders? Fat nails?

- no need to say anything about the cylinder wires/cables.

I would suspect that what you get is quite random.
To build with those parts they'd either have to have an exceptional source that no one has been able to tap into, or take years of building up.

To be honest there is no way the scopes aren't random. It only says an M series scope and there were tons of them.

Hengstlers without sockets are actually easy to find, well they were for me when I was looking 6 months ago.

Unique Canes has been around a long time. There might be some people around here that have Sterlings from them. If you put Unique Canes in the thread title they might see it.
IIRC Unique Canes Sterling rebuild were pretty bad. The parts are assembled onto a pipe (replacing the bolt) with a lot of JB Weld and bondo.

Scopes and Hengstlers without sockets are pretty easy to find. I'm sure they don't sell that many.

Boba Debt took that YEARS ago of his own build IIRC, someone may want to let him know they stole his photo.

What is the best and cheapest route for a demilled sterling nowadays?

In parts? IMA still has the best price but they are ugly and hack job cuts now that the BATF cracked down on the clean cuts of years past...

They also still offer their weld jobs that lets just say they look like poop...

I don't know of anyone doing decent builds right now, but you can buy a long barrel shooter for under $500

And just to put it out there, if anyone does get an IMA kit with the newly made barrel, I would be willing to take that new barrel off your hands and provide you with a metal dummy barrel...

Looking at that kit at IMA who makes a good metal tube with everything already cut out???????

No one in their right mind (except a licensed gun manufacture) as that will get you 10 years in a Federal lock up for manufacturing a post ban machine gun... And they can tack on 5 more years for tax evasion, as well as up to $250,000 in fines...

You can get what they call 80% tubes or blank tubes with a bonded template but in both cases care NEEDS to be taken to render the tube nonoperational ASAP especially if you have the rest of the parts in your possession... It's been highly advised by many to not have a tube and parts kit in your possession at the same time unless you are actively and in the direct immediate process of making it a non-gun...

It's been covered several times on the forum, just search up Sterling...

And be fully aware that the difference between a piece of muffler pipe and an illegal machine gun is literally a few cut outs to that pipe...

Just to dig this topic back up. I still see they have these for sale. Is the general consensus they are not worth it? Is anyone here making a metal E-11 currently?

If you want to build an E-11 from real parts, it's absolutely worth it, IMO... If you just want something that looks good on the shelf, the Master Replicas version serves that purpose quite well, as do many scratch build ones...

As for people that will build them, I'm sure if you dig around someone will build it... Just make sure they are knowledgeable and know what they are doing and thus they won't be cutting corners or making ignorant uniformed build decisions that could result in a replica non-gun being turned into an illegally manufactured machine gun...

Anyone here familiar with this company. They offer real sterlings that are all metal but for are non firing for display. They also offer converted E-11

Anyone dealt with them or know anything about them?

Thanks

I bought a parts kit from them years ago. They delivered as advertised.

You do have to be careful not to break the law if you try to weld the tube (the receiver) back together! I'm not sure of all the ATF rules.

I bought a sterling kit from IMA about 8 years ago that was of similar quality. It was around $175 at the time IIRC. Unfortunately I shipped it to former forum member and thief bowjunkie for him to build and never saw it again.

What you will get from IMA currently is no where near as nice as availability of kits like this one dried up years ago. Gunbroker.com is another good source but I would expect to pay closer to $500 for a kit like h3pilot's if you can find one.

After initially letting a huge lot of nice saw cut kits pass the BATF cracked down on the those kits that were saw cut with the full barrel shroud (as pictured above) any new kit will be cut up pretty ugly with a torch into smaller pieces... If you want one of the nice cut ups you will have to find an older import, but the cost will be significantly more...

Sorry. Worded poorly. I WANT new info if there is any.

Lol

The parts kits I find all suck.

I did buy a demilled sterling based e11 that just came today but I think if u could find an intact dummy gun I could make it better myself.

I might just have to take this one apart and redo it.

Well....like written before it´s illegal to import one of sterlings, deactivated to UK/ german law with the original receiver intact.

You best choice would be to de-solder all parts from the cut-up IMA kit, clean these and attach to a new -either selfmade or premade- receiver tube. Even THEN you have to pay attention not to end up with a BATF illegal SMG.
