You may be right. I would have to see it to know for sure. It has been a long time since I have seen that scene.

The main body was a fairly common container that was available back then. I remember back in high school getting these skittle-like candies in them, but I've also seen them in office supply places with paper clips and such in them.

The creature was called a squood and was more like a rodent than a bug.
