Drunken moron steals Dragon*Con Tolkien Track property!

I posted the pic to fb, too. I also did a quick search for legolas and dragoncon, but only came up with this from 2006- dragoncon: A Funny Story I would like to share . It would be funny if it was him, but probably not.

Some idiots just think of standees as worthless cardboard signs, and think it's funny to steal them. They have no clue. I was with a (former) friend at a Star Trek con about 20 years ago, and I liked the design of a printed ship that was taped to someone's table. So he stole it for me. Yay.:rolleyes It was just a printout, but I felt like an ass. Never went with him again.

College age kids are the worst for doing things like this. They're still obsessed with the cliques of their youth and picking on others is what makes them feel more important. That and add alcohol... bad combination.

:angry

Pardon my language but what the frikkin hell is up with this? What is the thought process here?

"Yo dude make sure you keep Saturday open. We're gonna totally drive out of our way to that nerd convention, pay to get in, and spend the whole day making fun of the people running it. Maybe steal some stuff while we're at it."

"Dude...sweet."

Nothing is sacred or safe anymore, and that sucks.

@Rodann...funny enough, that's actually my boyfriend, Chris (in my sig)! That Legolas standee has his face plastered on it, as a gag gift for Christmas from his older brother...basically because he costumes as Legolas :p!

We're give them that standee, but again, it has his face glued on it ><!

@the_batdemon: I tried blowing it up and cleaning up the image in Photoshop, with no such luck. The image is too low quality. I was hoping someone else got a picture with the guy, that was much higher res.

@Lutso: Totally, and completely. People were getting their badges stolen this year. My badge was stolen right out of the track room. First time I've ever lost my badge in 8 years of going. Luckily being staff, they replaced it with valid evidence from my track director. Security was really good, but unfortunately turds slipped through the cracks.

Thank to all of you that are helping me and giving me support with this!

New image of the officially dubbed "Moron":

Also, being the girlfriend of an English/Lit teacher, and getting ticked at grammatical errors...that "im" on his shirt is irritating enough to want to hit him :|.

I ran the image through the high-tech "enhance" protocol here at CSI Headquarters*... and here's a slightly better image of the alleged perp. ;)

Thanks Phelyx!

Again, I tried to zoom in and clean up the image with his badge visible, but no such luck with Photoshop. If anyone else has any luck:

All I can still make out is his first name being Jonathan or Joshua, and the last name maybe starting with an 'R'.

Sounds like DC needs to hire more security and post this guy's pic on their website. Security cameras would be great too.

I thought I would lend a hand and do a quick search, do you ave any idea how many pages come up when you type "Dragon Con" and "Virgin" into a search engine???

Can you link to a full res version of the first pic of him? I want to see what I can do to that badge to see if I can pull out a letter or two more.

Okay, just on the off chance that something might be revealed, I used the sometimes impressive Google drag-and-drop image search with a cropped image of Goober's face, and here's the interesting and sorta funny (but sadly useless) results. :)

That may not have worked, but, in the off-chance he is on Facebook, try the FB face-tagging thing.

Assuming he is intelligent enough to manipulate a home computer, which may or may not be the case.

Im assuming you called him a turd because he has toilet paper stuck to his shoe in the first pic of the thread.:lol I notice these things.

I went in and cleaned up the image as best I could

His name appears to be NATHAN

best guess on the last name is RAGIM ? his last name is a bit of a mess to read... any other photos of the badge? maybe RAHM
