Dredd 2012 Lawgiver 3d print (YES! ANOTHER ONE!)

That looks superb. I take it the possibility of getting a 3d print is out the question now, even in bits.

But have to say it again, briliant.
Could you show a picture of the other side to get some measurements from. Thanks

Thanks.

The main focus is getting the solid casts done. After that, then maybe I can risk having more prints done but they would be costly. (And it all depends on a successful run of the solid casts, because I need a couple more.)

There might be an alternative place in France that can print it, after substantial tweaks to the inside of the model (wall thickness) but they cost double what sh*pew*ys does. I'm not able to front any $ to do a test print there but if someone else wants to take the risk they can contact me via PM. But as I said... main focus right now is the casting project with Morganthirteen!

Obvioulsy as you say main priority to get solid casts done as you have a bit deadline on that.

At that price, probably not going to risk a test print. I've asked before, but would there be chance of doing some of the detailed pieces to put on a shell. And again sorry but photo of left side Please :$

That is some truly impressive work. Be proud of yourself.

Is it ever likely that you would offer for sale the digital file you created, allowing others to source their local 3D printers? If this is a stupid question, forgive me as I'm relatively new to the site.

But, I say again, this is an amazing piece of art.

Well, the actual RISK is pretty minimal as long as you adhere to the design rules. I just don't have a few hundred $ to throw at another print at the moment. We can get to the separate parts some time in the future. I'll see when I can snap another photo. Got the parts in my spray booth atm.

Definitely not a stupid question (and thanks for the praise), but once I let that file loose it would be out there and people would start making $ off it and I'm rather protective and controlling of certain parts of my work. Anyway, very few easily accessible places would be able to print this (and certainly none of the budget machines). That said... if someone reading this knows a place that can print smooth, durable plastic at 0.7mm thickness, feel free to send me a PM.

OK, it'll be an awfully long time before I'd have the money to get something as professional as your work printed up anyway, so I think I'll take the slow road, and get my heat gun & scalpel out :)

So, I just got these in. The plaques are done in the most detailed material available. I'm frankly AMAZED that the lettering came out so perfectly! (My only concern is how paint will react to them... lettering is so small the paint might fill it in!)

Also, the grenade was done in the "strong flexible polished" plastic. Turned out great and it was the first time I actually used the polished option. Will be painting it up soon. (Note: for those of you that are wondering about the FS thread and the grenades- they'll be up again in a couple weeks. I just want to get the run going on casting the LGs first.)

I'll be dong the spherical mine soon as well.

Looks great mate. Just curious, how high is the grenade and thickness too?

Sent from my PadFone

Not completely sure since I don't have it in front of me but I think the main cylinder is about 80mm high and 30-35mm wide. (Not counting the cap or the lever.)

Superb work again! :lol absolutley stunning detail.

Are the plaques available to order? I'll order a set now. They look fantastic. Just a though, could the serial number plaque be cast in black (Not sure if the material is available black) then wouldn't have to worry about painting?

No plaques at the moment. Waiting for the casting to get underway first. I have to make a new one anyway since the one above is not a screen accurate serial. If they are cast they will be dark grey or black. There is a black 3d print material but I'm not sure it can handle details this fine. Might have to enlarge the type a bit.

The gun, the grenade, the plaques... they ALL look FANTASTIC!!! I'm SO glad I'm on the "interested" list for this as I am REALLY interested!! ;)

If you're offering the grenade, color me "interested" in that as well, my friend!

Great work!!
-B89! :D

Thanks guys. :)

I've done some painting of the parts and they are turning out well. (Photos to come soon!) I am happy to say that the plaque took the paint well AND the lettering stayed intact.

Grenades WILL be on offer soon... just gimme a couple weeks so as not to anger the 3d Printing Gods!

Man, with the whole convention gathering happening this summer... I wish I could take part but I don't think I'll have the $ to make my way over. I'll have to do my judging from afar...

Updated photo of the current status. Note the sights and engraved plates.
