I love the suit! I'm still trying to find a way on how to make a fricken Dredd 2012 helmet without getting TOO expensive! The shoulder pads I could probably make out of craft foam or if I can get one made, vacuum form the shoulder pads, chest and back pieces. I have a REALLY cheap Judge vest, but looks really lame. Awesome suit for an awesome movie(saw it twice >)

Cheers for all the comments guys , captain J , the vest is pretty easy to make if you have a mom with a sewing machine
its just black airtex fabric with a layer of vinyl behind it and binding stitched all around the edges. Then black webbing over the shoulders and around the sides. We are planning to do the buckles but we just stitched the webbing for this event .

I'm in need of a Dredd helmet and this seems to be the only one available for purchase. I'm about 3 weeks from ordering one. Does anyone own this? If so is it pretty good for the price (US 445.00)?

Wow, that doesn't sound too hard. The armor chest and "abs" are made out what? I'm wondering if that could be made of craft foam or something. I also believe I found a good helmet, PEPAKURA!! Yeah I found a really good Dredd helmet on pepakura, even though it looks alot like the comic book version, but I think I can free hand it with extra bits and pieces to make it like the new movie. Trying to make this suit for New Orleans in comic-con is alot of fun (and my first time). I love Judge Dredd and I believe I'm the only one that does in Louisiana lol. Oh and thank you for responding! I highly appreciate it and love talking with people with building and making skillz

I have the full suit and the helmets are very good quality and fit true to size. One thing you might have to do is take the padding out of the top so that the helmet fits low enough, but other than that no worries.

Hey captain J , I think there's another dredd costume thread here , by yarko I think and he made a lot of his from foam , looked really good too . If your going for the movie version the lid you mentioned is comic style , they're real nice but I wouldn't wanna spend all that if your going to modify it . Yeah the pep ones would be easy to to change . Believe it or not the guy who made the one on our costume made it all from cardboard skimmed with filler !!
He's currently accurising it in readiness for moulding so keep watching.
If your in a rush though there are some others in progress here in the props page .

Wow out of cardboard? Did he free hand it? Or did he use a pre-exsisting model/pepakura? Looks amazing for cardboard and filler! Also, the chest and the rest of the armor is attached to the jacket or is is like a vest?

I do. It's fiberglass lined and on the heavier side. Colors and worksmanship are spot on. Paddings a nice touch but allows for a lot of swaying movement so you'll need to repad the inside to keep it 'secure'. FYI, I bought the whole suit so if you need more info on that, LMK.
Oh and you do know that this is the 2000AD comic version, not the 2012 version yes?

Captain j , yeah pretty much freehand , he scaled it off all the recent pics that we're around too.

I'm currently working on the lawgiver masters but I will be making armour in the near future .
Lawgiver will wrap around an airsoft glock 17 or 18 and will have the rear slide for blowback effect

Yeah it is a little large and sitting too low as well which does make it look larger, it's actually very close in size to Urbans but with the wearers shorter size it does look big on him, I'm 6'5" and it looks much better on me .
He is planning a smaller version soon .
