Matrix,

This brings me current on badges and lanyards. I'll be doing round three of badges later this week. Gotta put my head down and get some client work done as well as some work on my cosplays done. KJC is one of my buddies here in Atlanta and I'll get his avatar image from him directly as well as reach out to inkblot for her avatar. I have RyanWells image too.

I also sent out payment reminders via PM for folks on the lanyard list. So I'll update you on those as payments come in. lanyards will be ordered this week.

That's it for now.

Big Carpet Update...

Here's a WIP pic from what I'm working on for Dragoncon this year. Making some USCM armor, not as far along as I'd like but I think this will be a good week for me to get stuff done. My 14 year old will be Ripley but I don't have any pics of her stuff just yet.IMG_0846.JPG

Very nice.

I don't feel like I'm on track as much as I want to be. I have moments where I realize that I'm getting stuff done, then realize that I have a lot more to do...:facepalm

Your USCM stuff is looking great!

Thanks! Just about every night I go to bed having gotten stuff done, yet never quite as much done as I'd planned to have done. Pretty pumped about meeting everybody though, gonna be awesome!,

Show me one that is ever actually finished, and not just... "enh, I suppose that's good enough".

--Jonah

I can't show you a finished costume. :(

I'm usually making adjustments and tweaks to a costume as I go after i wear it the first time.

So true, they are never really done.

Finished for me is "ok, I'm ready for this convention, and I don't look horrible" :lol

Exactly. I need to have my favorite costuming-relevant quotes calligraphed and framed to hang near my workspace. One of them is Edison's "The first 80% of the work takes 20% of the effort, but the last 20% of the work takes 80% of the effort." And as you get closer, the time-to-results ratio goes asymptotic. You could be tweaking fine details forever.

That Edison quote is awesome. So true.

At this point I'm just making sure to spend time on my costumes and props each day, and on weekends I'm usually in my shop for a whole day. I think it will work out. But those details can get you every time.

At a certain point I just have to tell myself "This is fine, seriously Joshua it's OK, MOVE ON!" :lol
