Not in the least, the locals really do love the con like Engineer stated above, which is awesome and much different from the confused avoidance of many other locals of cities that cons take place in that I have been to. We even had some locals sit and eat with us in the food court last year. We shared stories and lots of laughs

So I'm new here, been lurking for awhile. This will be mine and my wife's 3rd DragonCon, but this is our first year in costume. I am going as Samurai Batman and my wife is going to be Geisha Harley Quinn. Still in the process of making everything so hopefully we will get done on time!!!
We live about an hour away so we will probably just end up driving in and out on Friday and Saturday instead of staying in a hotel. I can't think of any real schedule we have, will just end up wandering around and getting lost as usual lol. Hopefully we will run into some of you guys while we are there!

woo that sounds really awesome! Hopefully you will see us, maybe even if you want to drive up for thursday meetup you could meet the bunch of us who will be in the same place at the same time haha. Either way I sure hope to see your costumes they sound really neat Gurutu!

So who else is cramming costume work today? I am hoping to get some serious headway on my shoulder piece and then this weekend cram sewing for two days and get most of my stuff knocked out besides small detail pieces here and there!

the borderlands group on facebook was talking about a 5th floor lounge? ( that they plan to meet on saturday after the parade so thursday would be available i figure)

Sadly, can't make the meetup. My flight won't get in til Friday afternoon. Just gonna wear a bunch of previous made costumes this year. I have Winter Soldier comic book version, Indiana Jones and Tony Stark Avengers casual outfit for drinking time fun, and considering bringing Old Friends Sokka from Avatar/Korra. Gotta see if I can fit my sword in the suitcase. Only making one new costume, and that's Varrick from Legend of Korra.

Yeah, since this is our first year cosplaying... (... and I got started so freaking late!!! lol) we are only going to be bringing the 1 costume a piece this year. So we plan on just wearing the same one both days and getting all the kinks worked out.
