Dragon Con 2011 - Post Your Pics Here!

CB2001
those are most definitely Mord Sith from Legend of the Seeker,
I am actually working on my own Mord Sith leathers for next year.
I believe 2 of the women there actually had screen worn outfits and or accessories.

Okay, thanks for the confirmation. :)

Hellfast - silly question, but who is the one in the orange armor? I'm no Iron Man expert, but I've never seen that character before. You guys looked great. We saw you and tried to get closer, but there was too big a crowd. Glad to see there was another RPFer in your group. I've also never seen anyone do an Iron Patriot - that is an impressive design.

Thanks for the kudos, Bizarro. Drewid is correct, the Orange Armor is our version of Pepper Potts Rescue Armor. It took us two days to rush together. We have another Rescue suit design in the works which will replace the current suit.

The Iron America took us three weekends to put together. Our fastest time in assembling one of our suits. Yikes! We were some exhausted peeps. lol It still has a long way to go before it's finished. It will look different here in the next few months.

I think it's Pepper Pott's Rescue armor.

You got it, Drewid. It's our version of Rescue Armor. It's got an animated style and theme to it, which we try to keep with our armor look.

anymore pics of that spiderman? most accurate i have ever seen

We've got a few pics of our Spider-man on our page. His name is Nic. He's a pretty nice guy and I'm sure he would answer any questions you had about his suit. I know he's working hard on a big suit upgrade.

Great pieces. I too never saw that rescue suit before. I was beginning to think if you just put some wings under its arms you could call it the Copper Kid from Silverhawks. LOL

Nice to see that TREK is well represented. :)

I have to say, several of the reviews I read about SDCC and D*C really summed up the differences between the two conventions. I have been to both, and I came in from California to go to DragonCon and thought it was totally worth it! San Diego has nothing on DC.

SDCC is a very commercial enterprise. That's what it is, that's what it promotes, and although there a lot of fans there, it doesn't really encourage or give them opportunities to dress up and walk around in costumes like you can at DC.

DragonCon is very fan based. All of the main hotels are connected by a system of enclosed walking bridges. You can change in your hotel room and walk to almost any of the venues in your costume. It's safe, everyone enjoys it. At the Marriott it's a sort of see and be seen 24 hour a day display for the entire time. There are bars and restaurants surrounding the areas for watching and being watched.
San Diego doesn't have these kinds of facilities at their Convention Center. To get to most places you have to either take the Tram/mini-trains, or you have to cross the train tracks to get to downtown San Diego and walk outdoors to find any restaurants, bars, hotels, parking, etc.

Next year they changed the dates for SDCC, but sadly, not the location. They claim the 4 day passes are all sold out, but last year they released blocks of tix if you were willing to buy hotel rooms 3-5 miles away from the Convention Center. I'd rather come back to DragonCon. It's a fan friendly, continuous party and there is so much to do on many different levels.

My photo albums from DragonCon are posted on my facebook. I'm putting up the links here in order. The pages should come up the same way you would see an album in flickr or webshots.
