WARNING: Con Artist "Loe Robert" attempted theft

I'm going to preface this by thanking my friend Kevin for alerting me to this.
I'm not certain if this account is the real identity or a fake account, but please be aware that this con artist is stealing my posts and images, claiming my work as his own. They blocked me so I can't confront them via FB messenger, which only further exposes their cowardice. Thankfully Kevin alerted the group FB moderators who deleted the post and booted them for false advertising.

I'll be posting this to all of the costuming/ prop groups that I'm a part of to warn everyone, so if you see him pop up somewhere, continuing to pass my hard work as his/ her own, please let me know so I can report him. It's hard enough trying to run a business, let alone having someone try and steal from you.
What makes it even more offensive is that I'm the one wearing this costume in the photographs, so he/ she wasn't smart enough to think I would recognize my own work, much less my own image.

"Loe Robert" I hope you aren't a member here. If you are, I suggest you leave. You wanted to pass my hard work off as your own because you thought you could con some unsuspecting person out of some money. I've worked too hard and put up with enough ******** from enough people to be mocked like this, so I've already made you famous by posting your cowardice for the world to see.

I mean he was "smart" enough to block me so I couldn't confront him, but that also just exposes that he knew what he was doing was wrong and how much of a coward he is. I've been pushed around by a LOT of people my whole life, and the last few weeks especially have been trying for many reasons other than this, but just as things are coming together I have to deal with some lowlife who has nothing better to do than steal from me.

This is my livelihood now. It would be bad enough if I was still doing this as a hobby, but this my career, which means countless hours of hard work poured into building something from nothing, time that could be spent with my family or doing something fun, only to have some rat come in and try to bank on it. Not on my watch. I've sacrificed too much to tolerate this kind of thing. Put up with too much nonsense from literal psychopaths who seem to gravitate towards me like flies to ****. I won't stand for it. Not anymore.

So he wants to be somebody. I've already made him somebody. I posted that to all of the major SW groups I'm part of so everyone knows what he really is. You wanted attention "Loe?" You just put a target on your own back and buried yourself with your own actions. All I had to do was boost the signal for everyone without having to throw a single punch. You lose. **** you.

Looks like he joined a few Star Wars related pages recently, most likely with hopes to do a sales scam on each page before bolting. I’d go contact each page ADMIN to see if they will remove him, or at the most, monitor those pages to see what he puts up for sale.

I want to thank the moderators for moving this thread to a more high profile location. I posted it originally in Off Topic as it seemed the most appropriate. This is the kind of thing that I dislike posting about, but if I can keep others safe from getting scammed, then I'll shout from the rooftops.

That *might* be kropserkel 's work.
Thanks for the heads-up on this. From what I can see in the images of the Ringwraith costume post, yes, the image is mine, and of me. I'm a member of the Lord of the Rings Costuming group and will be directing them to this thread. Psab keel, I share your sentiments exactly, and am sorry to be caught in the net of the same person. All we can do is catch them when we can, and this guy won't be the last. As disheartening as it is, recognize that envy has set this fellow's path in the wrong direction.

I'm sorry to see he's gone after you as well, kropserkel. Your Ring Wraith costume is beautifully made, BTW. I'm just angry this loser is trying to pass off your hard work as his own. I know that copycat thieves are always going to be a problem, but like a diseased infested rodent, you have to snuff them out before they infect the house and make your loved ones ill. A friend of mine reached out to this creep via FB messenger and posed as an interested buyer in my Qui-Gon Tunic and he blindly supplied his e-mail address.

While I'm tempted to do the same, I don't need to further risk getting ripped off again if he has access to any of my e-mail contacts. In the interest of keeping my fellow board members safe, I'm not going to share it. While I want this guy stopped, I also don't want anyone in a situation where the authorities get called in for claims of doxxing or the like. Not that I would ever expect anyone here to go after the guy and threaten him, but I my intent is NOT to incite a mob, but make sure everyone is aware of this situation and keep your ears to the ground for any signs of theft, report them to the proper group admins, and let them terminate his membership so that he's no longer welcome in that community.

I also don't know if this guy is a stark raving lunatic, and I have my family's safety to keep at the forefront of all this. My wife and I are expecting a baby boy in September and they are my number one priority. Setting my anger aside, the practical side of me is most concerned with them more than anything/ anyone else.

I want to thank everyone here who has read, commented, reacted, or shared any information regarding this matter. Even those members who I've argued with throughout the years, the fact that we can set aside our differences to keep our community free from thieves, please know I deeply appreciate your support. It doesn't go unnoticed and thank you!

Again I also want to acknowledge our moderators for helping me warn others by moving this topic to a more high profile position on the boards. Thank you!

I blocked him a while ago from one Facebook group I moderate. Every day I am banning 5 or more profiles that look obviously fake when they request to join. Unsurprisingly I catch those same profiles scamming in other groups later on.

There are countless fake profiles just like his doing this, copying people's sales posts to scam people. Every single day I see a new scam post just like this. No matter how many get called out and reported, more will keep popping up.

Best thing to do is make a post warning people in that Facebook group and message the admins. I don't suggest commenting on the scammers' posts cause then they end up blocking you and and your comment will disappear and you'll never be able to see if they make more scam posts.

He also stole another helmet maker's posts and photos.Screenshot_2024-07-10-18-10-38-14_a23b203fd3aafc6dcb84e438dda678b6.jpgScreenshot_2024-07-10-18-10-43-76_a23b203fd3aafc6dcb84e438dda678b6.jpg

I put him on blast by posting warnings to all the FB groups I'm involved in. He blocked me right out of the gate and I was only aware of the scam thanks to a friend who warned me.

I know these people can't be avoided entirely, but we do what we can to make sure they're not welcome anywhere.

I mod a couple of pages on Fb,not Sci fi related though or props but a specific subject and I found you have to trawl through every profile you get.If it feels wrong dont add them..Believe me some people will go to a lot of trouble to create fake accounts to get into a group involved with high profile subjects for scamming.

With all the effort that goes into scheming to make money, you'd think the intelligence behind that could come up with a legitimate way to earn it. The problem is that with the sheer size of some of these groups, it would be near impossible to screen every single one and opportunists use this to their advantage.

I know this could have been much worse but it's irritating to have wasted so much time on it.

I don't even have the words for what I feel for things like this. I can't comprehend people doing this. And in such a scale, like this guy seems to be everywhere at once copying all those different posts and thinking he won't be discovered right away... that's crazy! That's always the tell with scammers, when you work really hard on your own stuff, you know it's not possible to do high quality costume parts, as well as helmets and other things at the same time too. You usually focus on one thing and you don't have that much to sell all the time. But I guess they make a little money everytime at the start and then do it all over again somewhere else... I hate thieves, I really hate them... you work so hard on something, sweat and tears, and they just profit from your hard work without doing anything themselves when there is so much you can do without having to steal from honest people.

It's infuriating. As I said, it would be bad enough if this was still a hobby, but it's my job. That means income that could be effected and the potential to have my reputation tarnished, all because some talentless scumbag want to make a quick buck.

I've worked too hard to let that slide.
