Dont panic!

I've wanted this prop since the movie came out...alas, poor ol' me has to go on without one:cry
Great work on the replicas - I love how you guys can make things like that from scratch with nothing more than a photo and the will to act....

If I recall correctly.... the film version had several wires that came out of it and we're hidden down the actors wrist. Pretty sure there are some production pics of it on the workbench floating around somewhere.

Enjoy useless info! :love

Does anyone know...wait, dumb question...let me rephrase this...would anyone who knows which fonts were used for the "Don't Panic" on the cover and the "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" on the spine be willing to share that information with those of us (okay, me) who don't know? And maybe the overall dimensions of the Guide itself? :D

BTW Contec, beautiful work! Come to think of it...does anyone else think that would have been a great packaging idea for the dvd?

I did mine at 5,5" x 5,5" x 14/16"

Oh, I love that movie!
I remember reading several years ago about a guy who made a functioning guide. Ergo a guide which worked somewhat close to the original but it was not a replica.

You may want to look into what he did, http://www.instructables.com/id/Wikipedia-in-your-pocket/

He used an old PDA with a static dump of wikipedia to have wikipedia wherever :)

The PDA could probably be modded to fit your needs and give a quite realistic hitchhikers guide to the galaxy :D
