The grooves on the circle are actually crescent moon shaped raised sections on the chromed piece that stick through holes in the front plastic piece, it's a 2 piece button.

If the new sterling silver could be used, that might be a great option for it, polishing the steel to a nickel-plate finish would take ages.

Shouldn't take so long. Base option of silver isn't polished much, and is 40 minimum per part so...

if you literally want no movement i can attach them to the faceplate and they wont move at all since it will be all one piece
