Doctor Who: Time Agent's Vortex Manipulator *SPOILER*

Good news everybody! I've officially started in on the prototype.

As a side note, I'd really recommend that anybody order zenix's parts not order the alumide material. The surface texture is similar to sand, and it's not a high enough concentration of aluminum powder to get that cold cast look. I'd just recommend getting the regular plastic and painting it, as the other options are way too pitted to be useful.

I'll continue posting progress here, although I may get ahead of myself and finish large chunks without updates. Not long now!

Awesome! I can't wait to see the results!

Ordered my parts in SS today. I have a LW awaiting my assembly and they will sew around it. I was on the fence going with SS but just went with it. Mesh and electronics to be pieced together from now till arrival.

Metal makes stuff feel more real. You'll be pleased in the long run =)

I think people should be ordering the metal face and black plastic buttons, and the real round button from ebay. that's the best combo

This was that last piece needed to finish Jack. I got tired of waiting for UG toys to get production done. I saw a sample of the leather and I wasn't pleased at first but after thinking about it I like it a lot. Color is close with a matte finish and pebbled face. I may just toss it together for SDCC and then finalize it after but will post pics.

Thanks. 3mm it is. Talked with the LW and she can make it fit nicely and be removed if necessary. Will I need a small pc of plastic as a cover for the 2nd led? Shapeways just sent me the 14 day notice for metal.

Shapeways delivery scheduled for Tuesday.

***Edit*** Arrived today. Looks great but buttons are way too big to fit.

i'm working on the leather for one of these right now, and it is not an easy task. i've already gone through three full prototypes

Kommissar, if you PM me I'd be happy to discuss the difficulties with you. It's a tricky piece, I'm curious if you're having the same problems as I am.
