Doc's foam/fiberglass work + Mark 42 painted pieces

Re: foam with rondo+ new foam MK6 pic heavy

yea thats why I started to first heat seal then watered down elmers then it usually takes 1 coat maybe 2 light coats of modpodge. I dont use the plastic dip at all no more. I never tried brush on but i do think if your good with a brush go with the brush on it would probly go alot longer than the spray.

Re: foam with rondo+ new foam MK6 pic heavy

I see alot of people having trouble with the gap under armpit area, what I do when I build chest i make sure the arc are is right in between pecs so it brings chest where its supposed to be and ends at bottom exactly where lower ribs are. If it ends lower than your ribs your chest is to big and if its higher than ribs to small. But if ya do it that way it should fit ya like a glove and cover that area without doin extra work. :)

i used this step
1. heatseal with heatgun
2. 1 coat watered down elmers
3. 2 light coat modpodge
4. 1 coat bulldog adhesion promoter
5. primer
6. paint
7. clearcoat and put bulldog adhesion promoter after to give it more flex

its basically the same just took out the plasic dip and switched adhesion promoters:)

F-R-E-S-H man. I assume you heat sealed first too. I gotta get on that bulldog. I like taking out the plastidip, I'm kind of thinking that might be what caused me a large degree of cracking... though not positive.

Thanks for your input homie(y)thumbsup:thumbsup

Re: foam with rondo+ new foam MK6 pic heavy

by the way, I would like to know how strict you are about drying times, and approximately how much time you allow between steps... let me know whenever you get time man thanks again

Re: foam with rondo+ new foam MK6 pic heavy

thanks oh yea i still heat seal sorry i'll edit that, I allow atleast 1hr between coats but longer after i paint to put the clear on then bulldog, but the longer you wait between coats the better
