Doc's foam/fiberglass work + Mark 42 painted pieces

Re: Doc's foam Builds + functional behind knee piece and leg all painted up

Hey Doc, once i measure my chest i convert the inches to mm which is 508mm. Then i open the pep, go to measure distance and it says 445.8 mm. But when i got to scale factor in 2d menu the measurements are different. Does that matter or should i just input my measurement as the width and thats all??

I somtimes just add mm in scale factor till I get the measurement I need from the area I measured. Then after that you should get your scale for the rest of your suit.

Glad to help out. As for my mark 7 it just has to wait trying to catch up with orders and thats more important to me. But when I do I'm gonna go all out on it n hold nothin back. It'll be crazy:wacko:lol

Re: Doc's foam Builds + mark 6 Cod and legs all painted up

How do you reinforce the joints so they don't tear? Washers and Chicago screws? Mine always tear...=(

Nicely done! :)

thanks dude

I put a metal bracket used for hobbys you can bend it to shape. I have em on both thigh and shin. Theres holes for screws and just use washers and screw them in. Or on other builds I use hard plastic for the joints. I always do somthing to not leave it just foam cuz yea it can probly rip off.

Is there any chance of showing a picture of those brackets, or maybe easier link to something like that on the interwebs ? :love

Thanks Dude. Their made from sentra plastic sheet. I measure, cut and then heat it till its the shape I want. Then attach with strong elastic.

This is a Mark 8 repulsar light for a customer. Doing lots at once. This is my own design 9 leds and 2 recharable AA batteries. After I'm all caught I might start an interest thread that will include gloves painted or just sealed, lights and handplate of any Mrk, Ironpatriot or warmachine. Heres a vid to show how it works and a couple of pics..enjoy

Hey Doc, Thats badass! I gave up for a while on my build cuz the scaling is kickin my butt and i cant figure it. So i started a side project building a 1W laser to burn stuff wit and have my father in law help me put it under the handplate... If i can ever scale it right that is

HA, just saw the "I <3 DORKS" sticker on your fridge. NICE !

and the glove look really nice too. Love the smooth transitions on the inner side. Good work as allways.
