Whew! Just read all 31 pages of your thread! I've been planning a Republic Commando armor for a while now and your methods are going to help so much! I really appreciate you sharing all the info, your suit looks incredible! Cannot wait to see it finished!

Doc, I love all your work. But I gotta say, you went a little over complicated with the mark 8 boot. It's much simpler than previous I'm suits. Which is ironic since the rest of the suit is much more complicated.... Imim2 has built one based off my model.

The proportions are off. But if you want my boot file to try and make it more accurate, let me know.

Thanks man but I Have the file its just that theres alot of things I saw on it that didn't match the reference photos. For example the back of the boot is flat in the center and angles on the sides like the top of a hexagon, the center is flat all the way to about 1" or so than angles inward. And on the file its straight down on the heel and kinda bubbles out in the back. And in the bottom of the heel angles in not straight down like on the file. Thats what I saw but who know might just be my eyes :lol Theres other differences But I don't know if ya guys simplified the design for easier building still cool I can point out a few other things that didnt match the reference photos if you want. But your suit file awesome man keep at it:thumbsup

heres a short vid of me and my brothers arc reactor blinding brightness :lol I've been building for awhile and yet to show electronics till now. After I catch up with everyones orders I'm going to turn it up a notch and start adding electronics to my builds. My brothers gonna be my tech man. We will build Repulsars for my gloves, arc reactors, Lit up eyes for my helmets and of course servo for automatic faceplate. And try some different stuff. Its gonna be cool

I had just started watching this one. I'll be subscribing. I love the arc vid but will there be a tutorial along with. I just love tutorials:love. A quick question if you don't mind. I have searched info on the boot( how-to foam boot) do you hot glue foam to an existing shoe? Any way looking foward to seeing more of this one:thumbsup...GM

Thanks murdoch. As for a tut...right now I dont have time so behind on orders. As for the boot yes I use a shoe as a base, I find it works better for comfort

Ok finally drum role please....:lol the mark 8 boots:thumbsup I got it as close as I could just had to make some changes to make them wearable but its all freehand so it's not 100% accurate but did my best so hope ya'll like them. Once painted all the details will stand out

That filler primmer looks exactly the sort of stuff I need for my mass effect build to get the foam really smooth, I've tried googling it though and can't find a UK supplier, does anyone know if you can get this in the UK or know of an equivalent? I went to Halfords for a look and they had a "Primer Filler" but it was yellow of all colours and I read reviews and it didn't sound promising.

Have you tried this stuff? I plan on trying this on my next foam build, I'm told it gives a good finish.
