As a follow up to that, i've got the switch off and i've got a metal plate. What's a good filler for the remaining holes?

Also, is there a anything special that should be use for attaching the plates to the gun and then filling the gaps?

Long shot I know... but what are the odds that you'll ever do a steel kit run again.... ever?

Any chance of buying just the front grill?

There might be some parts left over after this run, I will post if there is

No! I can't believe I missed out on this! Will there be more runs?

There will be another run around March or so

I didn't make the TFA kit in steel yet, maybe in the future,

I'd love to to be in on the March run as well! How did I miss this! Guess I was too busy on the ESB Blaster :)

Anyone have a good way of attaching the lenses and lens rings? I've been using JB Weld for everything else. Might first instinct was super glue.

If you use super glue make certain you clean all finger oils off the lenses before you glue them.
The Superglue will "haze" or cloud the lenses because the vapor interacts with oils from your skin.

Figured this out the hard way on another project. :)

Vigor "Jeweler's Epoxy" is the bomb. Sets in five minutes solid and won't cloud anything. That's what I used.

I think I've got my blaster to a point where i'm going to stop fiddling with it. Really enjoyed the build. I opted to blue the metal instead of paint. I know it's not 100% screen accurate to TFA, but it feels more like a real world object to me this way. What a satisfying prop to hold in the hand. I think this might have inspired me to do a Han Solo costume this year.

Could I ask what method you used to blue the aluminium parts? I've never had any success with it. Yours is looking great!
