Hey dmachinist, is there any information about the meaningful differences between the steel/cast/aluminium sets for the uninitiated? Looking to grab a kit but need to make a decision due to the big price difference between steel/cast! Has anybody done any comparisons?

Is the accurate dovetail cast mount the new standard? Or is it only going to be that way in the detail kit?

There are guys that have done an outstanding job with the aluminum kits, some guys like the steel because it finishes more like the real prop,
All the mounts will be cast even in the detail kit, machining that out of solid billet is a real bitch believe me!

The dovetail mount is only for the detail kit or can be purchased separately
The regular cast kit has the bolt on mount.

So, since i just bought a kit 2 months ago, can i send the scope mounts in to be cut for a fee rather than replacing almost the entire kit? I really could cut the dovetail myself amd make a bolt on piece for the rail, but i hate buying a special cutter to make 2 parts.

You can just etch a dovetail "outline" on each side and paint black and wipe off the extra to darken the line,

There wasn't enough interest to warrant a detail run, and I had other projects going on,
All runs vary according to the current flow and demand .

Just checking before I order, being in Canada sadly I can't get a denix c96 so I have to go the airsoft route. The 2 guns I was looking at are:

HFC Mauser C96 Gas Pistol

Personally leaning towards the HFC because I can get a short clip for it, however the Umarex would be easier to install the kit on because you can separate the upper/lower halves of the gun. Yes I know neither are really screen accurate but it's my only option. Thoughts?

Canada's replica firearms laws are overkill, I can buy the full auto airsoft gun but the non firing Denix is off limits because it looks like the real thing.
