Diegator's Grey Fox / Cyborg Ninja *COMPLETED*

Hey Diegator could I see some more of those in progress build pics you didnt put up? Im working on a suit and the more reference the better I say haha.
Just email them to me if you can. Thanks man great build

No problem guys, It was my pleasure. 3D model was pretty good to start with... it only needed some minor adjustments. Then a lot of work on the unfold. Glad you like it.

Yeah, I already printed it out and started scoring lines. There's still a few issues here and there, but it's not something you could have seen without zooming in to a ridiculous level. They also won't prevent me from building an awesome helmet. I just hope I got the scaling correct.

hmmm. I am curious now cause I usually see any errors when I unfold it. The only thing I noticed was that the little cone shaped depressions aren't really perfectly circular. What issues did you see?

So, do you think it's time to post my "MK1" pep files?

YES!

Long time lurker and only signed up few days ago to start a deadpool project but I am interested in learning everything this site has to offer for a more professional approach!

Well done Diegator!

I, too, would like to see the pepakura file for this one. I think that it could be a fun project sometime, but I'm no where near your level. Incredible work on top of a tremendous amount of effort and creativity, D. *applause*
Have any ideas on future projects?

Here are the files. There are two versions for the side plates because I messed up the scaling or mating between the parts (I think I moved one seam at one point) and I don't remember which is which.
It may take some tweaking to get everything to fit together.

*EDIT* - removed the link to the files
PM me if you want me to serve you a copy

Please, as a courtesy to the community, do not share the link outside of theRPF, or host the files elsewhere. Thanks!

sorry for the noob question

why did you mold and cast your helmet after the bondo?
was it to make copies later or to use a more suitable material?

it seems you achieved a nicer look because you didnt stik to the "bondo'ed paper" and turn to some kind of resin or plastic... shinny

again, sorry... hope you understand my question :facepalm

your work is inspiring
congrats :cheers

That's a perfectly legitimate question. I started off thinking i want going to cast it, but the bondo and fiberglass had some problems... It was too stiff and it would crack too easily. Also, with the parting lines i had, i couldn't get smooth edges at the seams.
Casting it in plastic makes it both more durable and thinner, plus, i can make copies if i break a piece... Also, i can sell the copies if soneone wants it badly enough.

So if you were to repeat the process of building the helmet all over again, would you mold it in one piece from the bondo piece and cut the plastic cast, or would you cut it the same way you did before?
I might try to do one similar as yours as my first project if you dont mind. It wont be as good, i'm certain, but i want to learn to do stuff like this and this is the most awesome helmet in the history of movies and videogames in my opinion :D
