Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

Honestly I'll be disappointed if they do the A before at least a couple of other ships. I'd like one with that flatter paint job too, but I'd much rather have an Enterprise D, E and several others before an otherwise identical copy of a giant, expensive model I already own. I was quite surprised by his reaction to the question, which suggests that an A will be coming sooner rather than later.

I've watched that video at least 10 times so far. LOL. It's actually the ILM style repaint of the 1701 refit as it appeared in The Wrath of Khan that I'd like the most. Not really too interested in the A, but I do LOVE the ILM repaint. I'll be more than happy with this STTMP version of the 1701 if that's "all" we get of her. Outstandingly nice work they've done on this for a very reasonable price point.

I had not thought of that as they used a shortened version of TMP opening for WOK. I know for VI they did an entire repaint.

So I say Tommy should do all three. Hell they could do #3 with battle damage, or WOK with and without battle damage.

I would get them all.

I think when they have all the tooling and training in place they would do any variations of the Refit, but maybe do one in between other ships.

Now hush your mouth on the D. (n) Enough. It's been done. I am behind on my Fanhome D as it is.

You meant Excelsior and the E I am sure.(y):love::p:eek::lol:

Agreed. For the REFIT I really thought we would be looking at a minimum of 900 bucks, but realistically more northwards toward 1200! Or more! But 700 + 50 shipping for a 20 pound + item? Unbelievable!
 
I know this waaaaay off topic but does anyone think they might do Star Wars ships?

I think they have a SW license in Japan, but not sure here.

I would love some X Wings, Falcon and some Tie love….in diecast…studio scale.

Big Falcon, always good.

4' to 8' Star Destroyer would be nice.

Large Executor class Star Destroyer would work.

Y wing would be sweet.

X wing done to death.

Huge Sandcrawler would work

2nd Death Star!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So many ships have been done.

MYC made amazing stuff, but very expensive and I think super limited. Having to race others to try to get an order in in a couple minutes is a good way to ensure they will never get my money.

Having said that I would run over a nun to get one of their Cloud City model.

I know everyone loves Slave 1 and as a Boba Freak I love it to, but I love the Big Hasbro version and am very happy with it. MYC went away and another company is doing stuff.

lol ok you’re into it! I want a X wing though! I lost out after Mouse closed MYC…MY LUKE X WING…gone forever! But I will take any SW ship though! IN DIECAST! lol

If Tomy came out with one a year in the Enterprise Price Range I would get them all. When these are done as professional models, which is rare, most can not afford them.

Brand new here and this thread is full of great knowledge ! I backed two of these as it’s my favorite ship in all of sci fi! I had the amt models that quickly self destructed with pylon weakness and several of the diamond select versions which were really detailed for what they were at the time

The prototype already looks great ! The paint scheme is beautiful , and from the video , it looks like they may have already repainted certain parts of it vs the Tomy pics (like the front of the bridge as someone already mentioned , and the strongback).

A lot of interesting things in that video :
Chris’ statements that the upper saucer grid may be altered slightly - wonder if that’s to further conceal the seam between the bridge and rest of saucer , plus the impulse deck .

His reaction to an enterprise-a :)

The tmp-style startup at the end !!

His comments on a “bottom up” construction vs the split down the middle construction on the TOS

They even included small details like the lights in the forward part of outer nacelle grills (not sure the actual name lol )

I’m so excited about this !!
