Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

Outstanding work! Now, if I were to buy it off you, or have you build it for me, how much would it cost?

I'm gonna guess a hell of a lot more than 600-bucks.

Understandably so too!
Thank you sincerely!! And Yes!!! More than was asked for the TOMY!
Again, enjoy it for what it is!!! Have fun!

Well, finally got my refund. Took 8 days to show up on CC!
Regarding the stand, I still say you could support the saucer from behind like the Eaglemoss ships do. Much more elegant of a solution.

YES!!!! Just like that Away team nonsense instead of landing party!

I have always disliked the term away team for some reason, call me old school I guess!

IT'S A LANDING PARTY!!

I agree with this. But they use them interchangeable now. I didn't mind it in TNG because it was after TOS. But now SNW used both terms. And yeah i use Bussard Collectors and Nacelles interchangeably now.....

For anyone curious, I spoke to Tomy about buying one of the models allocated to a cancelled order and their response was:

"Hi, they will be at our store, TOMY Outlet Store, 563-875-5613, give them a call."
Well, that will be a stark contrast to all their Ertl farm toys and baby items! They'll probably need an entire row to shelf them! Perhaps they should advertise it as "Come see the Field of Dreams, pick up an Enterprise!".

I will bet people who canceled will be running over to the Iowa store, website or calling to get half off....lol....

These deserve better than sitting in an outlet store. I hope people who will appreciate them snap them up quickly.

If I had a bigger house and a few extra dollars, I'd get a couple more. Dispite all the issues mentioned, it will make a nice display as is.

If there had never been a crowd funding campaign and TOMY just offered this Enterprise, I would happily buy it.

I think everyone assumed (and I suspect the creators intended) that there was matter/antimatter mixing going on in the nacelle caps. Then for TNG they became hydrogen scoops. I think Rick Sternbach came up with that. I respect him greatly, but that one....
I still think that there's got to be some sort of reaction going on in there. I believe particle collection (and sometimes dispersion) is just a part of its function. All that flashing and glowing has got to mean more than a vacuum cleaner. There's certainly a stew brewing in there.

I imagine any hydrogen/deuterium they collect through the bussard membrane is basically immediately joining a reaction that is processing it into a refined form (since they don't use it raw, and some of it is even converted into antimatter) and anything they manage to collect and immediately process allows them to avoid using their existing fuel storage. More than a vacuum cleaner, it's also a refinery. At least that's what I suspect!

In TOS you can even imagine that the varying speed of the "fan blades" is regulating the intake based on the local environment to keep that reaction stable. Spinning fast if there's not a whole lot around to work with, slowing down if they're lucky enough to be in a more hydrogen rich environment.

Fun conjecture.

Well they have it on their outlet website as well. Not for sale yet but I can't see them lowering the price much or at all. Many people still want these, even with stand, plugs and seams. Lol $600 is better than well over 1k for a MR or something similar..

Agreed. They will sell them all in time.
As many people that went whoah, look at those plugs! Also went whoah look at those lights! Both are valid reactions.

Haha. Looking at videos and other forums. People who missed out seem to not mind the plug holes. As you say the lights are a Whoah as well as the price and the fact that the thing is diecast as heavy as a tank...lol

And they are still showing the old pictures and not the actual product

At nighttime, especially during Christmas, it's going to look terrific along with all of the other flashing lights in the house. It'll be a conversation piece for sure. All I need now is a 1:350 scale diecast D7-class battlecruiser sittin' next to the TOS 1701 Enterprise. I'd be more than happy to have those two lit up at night, facing each other. Lol.
