Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

I had bought them as well but they got lost in a move! Rub it in why don’t ya!. Mine came out great otherwise not witness to a seam and added lights to the pylons windows, just screwed the decals. Still fixable. To retrack this thread,I thought I saw a pic where the lights on the underside of the saucer are red and green….is this not incorrect?
No, the undersides are just white.

I'm pretty sure those are just the fill areas after the Borg slicing beam hit the hull

That stand is atrocious. And is this the first time they've revealed there will be a separate support for the saucer? NOW they tell us. They can't engineer METAL to support itself? Looks ridiculous.

There better not be any screw hole covers that will ruin everything. Hopefully someone comes up with a fantastic looking 3rd party base for it as well. I looked at some Hi Res pics of the USS Enterprise restoration pics. Webpage link provided below if anyone wants to check it out. Hopefully when full scale production getting going alot of these issues get resolved. TOMY step up on your quality control and be proactive not reactive. Where is my phaser DANG IT!! Just kidding hopefully as if finalize we will more improvements :)

That separate stand might be for the saucer separation which is one of the features they highlighted. Not 100% sure but I suspect that is the reason for the extra support…or additional support?

The stand is not great looking for sure but let’s give them some leeway until we see additional pics. I’m hoping for the best and while recent updates have been somewhat confusing I’m still excited!

Thanks for the link!

As for the screw holes I am sure those will be filled and sanded or puttied. They couldn’t be that negligent…?

Your post with the Facebook video ( Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded) ) shows it displayed without the saucer support so it should be able to support itself unless there was a drastic change in the design to where it no longer can. I gotta be honest though...if the strut is needed for standard configuration, that's going to be a deal breaker for me.

In an update back in Aprilin the video they used the word BONDO ! Not sure if they have changed their minds on that route !
Yes! You're right now I remember! So those screw gaps will be filled!

Yes that extra strut would be disappointing indeed!! If that change is legit what structurally could have caused them to need it after the video, you're right, showed the ship without it?

As I said these updates have been baffling!

hmm I'm reminded at 1:28 with this scene from Undercover Brother. Bonded and sanded and hopes and dreams. I truly hope so or there is going to be a LOT of disappointment.
If the plugs are visible I’ll just display her flying right to left. I’m more anxious about the detailing and weathering.

Interesting that the plug holes are on the starboard side, since that was the beauty side, on the filming miniature.
I am troubled by the decision to put all the plugs on the starboard side. the original enterprise model already has a beauty side and an ugly side, why not take advantage of that?
put all your plugs and seams on the port side, fill them as best you can but then if anything peeks through with age it isn't a huge loss because the "filming" side is still pristine. seems like an easy choice.

a metal model plus putty filling? That's just asking for temperature expansion/contraction to crack open some seams eventually. bondo cracks. which would be a lot easier to live with if they're not on the standard display side.

wish they would flip the molds and put all that junk on the other side, then I'd have little reason to worry about it.

I agree. Is anyone discussing this on their Facebook??? The stand and the plugs?

The first thing I thought when I saw it. Extremely disappointing.

This is the kind of thing that dominates the TOMY FB page. The last posting about the enterprise is a year old. View attachment 1731392
People may be asking on the last post about the Enterprise. They probably are not answering it but I hope they are aware people are not too happy. Hopefully it's just a sample and not finished. The pictures were not well done. We will know for sure next month.
