Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

That's good news. I quit Facebook last year and can't see the Tomy video you attached.

Any one know if these Tomy update videos are available through another source besides FB?
Interesting. I'm able to see it and I'm not on Facebook either. It's looking good (y)

No worries, could be my browser and ad blockers.

Love all the features they're adding to this replica...but alittle worried how far the campaign still is from their goal. Would really suck if this doesn't happen.

They've already preordered 1667 units !

I know I commented before about the need for a couple of the nacelle lights to blink.... and now, WHOA, they made ALL of them blink, which is not accurate, either!

So how do the economics work around lowering the backer goal, getting less money, but still being able to produce it? I hope there isn't magical thinking happening here, because even though I'm not a Trek fan, I'm watching and cheering this on. :)

Despite being a lover of all things Enterprise, I've remained quiet until now. My destiny lies along a different path--my eventual build of the 1/350 Round 2 kit. While this high-end, pre-built model is tempting, I gotta pass. But I hope the crowdfunding goes well, and that the final product is excellent.

This was really smart of them to lower the order number. Psychologically, people are now convinced it will make the goal and so are taking the production much more seriously.

In fact, I just placed a second order. As such, I believe that - contrary to their rewards categories - that makes me a Commodore now. ;)

This comes to 1812?????
The 1812 represents the number of commander, captain and admiral "rewards" funded. I assume the 1740 backers are the number of customers. The difference between the 1812 and 1740 suggests that some customers have funded multiple "rewards".

With respect to the 2,000 backers needed by July 24, $1,200,000/$599 = 2,003, so I believe the 2000 backers reference is 2000 units sold and not 2000 customers.

Also, when listening to the following video, Tomy states that "we are lowering the backer quantity from 2500 pieces to 2000 pieces" which suggests that the 2,000 backers needed by July 24 are 2000 pieces funded and not 2000 customers.
