Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

That looks great!
I'd be happy with that, but to pick a couple nits, the dome could be a hair less opaque, and shouldn't a couple of the lights be blinking?
Yep. The painted prototype is missing some of the functionality of the tooling test. If you watch videos of their unpainted tooling model you can see that the lights inside are blinking:
(although that one seems to be lacking the motorized spin :p hopefully this gets off the ground so we can see all the pieces put together)

They did say they are continuing to refine the nacelle lightshow which I assume would include making the dome slightly more transparent, and leaving the clips transparent as well (they shouldn't be hull colored).

This is why I so dearly want this TOMY campaign to succeed.

Ridiculous.

Dear Star Trek fan,

Thank you for your interest in the 1/350 Scale Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Replica campaign! We’ll be sending periodic updates with not only up-to-date information on the campaign, but also information on our Enterprise prototype in progress.

Today we are sharing an update related to the shuttle doors on the hangar bay. After hearing from you, our fans, we’ve decided to include functionality to these doors, so you can now keep them open or have them closed. Our design team is working diligently to make sure the doors function properly, but here’s a good view of what it will look like both open and closed. Additionally, all three shuttles fit inside with the doors either opened or closed.

They've put a lot of thought and work into the saucer separation thing, and it is canon, but no one is going to display it that way. No one. It's really a waste, and I'd rather be without that option in order to avoid the seam.
Also, it's been pointed out that no amount of filling and sanding is going to remain invisible forever. Metal, filler and plastic: different materials changing over time in different ways---those plugs and seams are going to be visible one day.

I’m cool with the seam. I think overall this could be an awesome replica!!! The more details leak the better I love everything about this model!

But the complaints, compliments, suggestions are all moot if we don’t get those 2500 backers. And that goal is certainly no guarantee at this point!

If they can get this to be motorized, it will surpass any previous replica incarnation of the TOS Enterprise! This function alone will make that 600 price tag a criminal act!! Lol

That would be great, but so far no mention of that upgrade !

If you look at the total Money in preorders currently the number of units preordered is 1467 supported by 1316 backers

I'm hoping (and they probably are as well) that SDCC helps resolve that issue.
As far as I'm aware, last thing they said about conventions was that this past FanExpo was the only one they were attending at would be our last chance (and first chance?) to see it in person.
Which seems like one (of a few) miscalculations, so I don't expect SDCC will affect this campaign at all. In fact it might hurt it because the last four days of this crowdfunding campaign, all the nerds will be busy!

I sent it to him & Norman a couple days ago, glad he's interested and bringing more attention to it!

You are awesome!!! I was also going to do that! But I never got around to it! Thank you so much for doing so hopefully he can bring more publicity to this project!

This is something that TOMY should have done!

Hasbro has had a public webpage for their stuff and exclusives including Haslab for quite a while. Tomy seeemed to be doing this on a shoestring... I don't think its lack of demand as much as poor advertising and having it limited to US only. its a shame really... I ordered one but don't expect it will happen.

It will need the last minute boost these things sometimes get. Or maybe they will settle for close enough.
