Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

True but he told me that is how he is going to display it...without the saucer stand...it's a little unstable, but he thinks it will be fine as a stand alone set up.
I can't take the chance, given all the rattles and rolls we semi-regularly get here in earthquake land (aka LA).

My only regret is that someone in the very near future may create a new stand for the secondary hull that makes the entire thing very stable.

agreed, keep it, it’s a fine collectible and now has its infamous place in collectors history.

Haha. Yeah it has a story attached to it. So this piece will go down in legend that the designers tried to pass off visible plug holes as covered plug holes...from August 10th..."We are sorry to keep you waiting! As promised below are the pictures of the final sample with the highlight being the plug holes on the right side." ... ...
Funny Face Lol GIF

Still after the dust has settled I'm less mad now. Decided to keep it especially after seeing videos of it online and know that I have a unique Diecast Enteprise in my collection with a funny little story behind it...lol....

Yeah, this replica is the exact, flawless representation of the new Enterprise in the next motion picture in the Star Trek franchise, titled "Star Trek Infamous!" It tells the tale of Kirk's academy days, as he "borrows" the Enterprise to face and defeat a real-life Kobayashi Maru. During the excursion Kirk encounters a cube like structure that makes a feeble yet very determined attempt to penetrate the hull of the Enterprise using extremely precise "lines" and "circles". Kirk outsmarts them by continuously keeping the starboard side of the ship facing them, except for one most exceptional maneuver, which I will explain in a moment. Though several portals and and a number of seams were inflicted upon the ship, Kirk's actions preserved the port side of the ship, except for a seam which now runs singularly around the saucer section, about deck 6. This seam about the saucer, as I was saying, was produced at the only time in which Kirk deviated from his plan of facing starboard toward the cube. In his final move to escape the cube, Kirk performed a maneuver that has eversince been known as the "TOMYASHI MARU. In a final attempt to escape, Kirk hit the brakes so hard he sent the Enterprise in a full circle so quickly that he was able to break away from the attacking cube, but not before it was able to cut a perfect seam completely around deck 6, just above the windows. After the incident, Kirk returned to the academy to face the consequences of his "borrowing" the Enterprise. One would think his actions might have caused him some grief, and perhaps hampered his early career. Turns out, the incident was yet another proof of his extraordinary leadership. During the battle with the cube, the devices slicing the hull of the Enterprise were attempting to gather sensitive and confidential information about the ships structure, weaponry, etc. The TOMYASHI MARU he performed to escape the cube occurred amidst this breach attempt. The sudden change in direction caused by the TOMYASHI MARU instantaneously reversed the cube's attempts to download information from the Enterprise, and in a split second offloaded to the Enterprise all info from the cube, deleting everything in the cubes databanks as it went, leaving the cube effectively stalled out. As a result, Kirk returned to the academy with all the cube's information. When considering Kirk's case the academy reviewed the data brought back by Kirk. An investigation into the data by the academy revealed that Kirk had discoved a hostile new species called the Borg. Kirk's actions had not only saved himself and the Enterprise, but the information he brought back from the Borg ship allowed Starfleet to improve the Enterprise's security and defense systems. Kirk's actions as a cadet had truly convinced Starfleet of his leadership skills which, in time, would lead him to the captain's chair aboard the Enterprise!

I'm afraid you have misunderstood me. I was told by Dan back when the instructions were released that the saucer stand was not required. But, when all of this blew up a couple weeks ago, I contacted him again, and he declared that the saucer stand is a necessity, not an option, now. That is why I cancelled my orders.
OH thanks for letting me know! Oh well. Hopefully someone will come up with a decent alternative then! Thanks for the info!

Several things Dan said during the project did not come to pass, so what makes folks think his promise about stability without the stand will?

Watching the videos, it looks to me like it's unstable, without the front stand, because the stand is way too light and it has to simple pegs holding the model on. There is also not enough "stand" in front of the model. I don't think the neck will have trouble supporting the saucer once it is secured better to the neck and a better, heavy base with a secure post. A heavy duty security camera post secured to the model will work as well. It will display securely and stable no problem. I hope. I will know for sure as soon as I get mine unless someone beats me to it. As it's metal I don't think there will be saucer or nacelle droop problem.

Yes. Even the author of the video has confirmed this fact. He only removes the saucer stand for making the vids themselves. As he comments in one of the videos, he thinks the one stand alone is just too unstable for display purposes.

Leave it to Hallmark to come up with the perfect answer to the stand problem...

Of course, the answer's been there all along!

And now for a reenactment...
Haha. Of course we have all joked about it. But I don't see how a big green hand covering up a good portion of the saucer will be much better.

In one of their last updates they indicated shipping would begin on the 6th ! "before shipping begins on October 6th, 2023 "
I talked to Chris H and he said cancellations by the 6th, shipping starts the 9th. I know their last email blast said:

“If the design detail leads you to be dissatisfied with your purchase, please contact TOMY Consumer Services at cs@tomy.com or 1-800-704-8697 before shipping begins on October 6th, 2023”.

So we should start getting these next week. Sweet.
I suspect shipping really begins when the container ship docks, they are unloaded and finally pass customs. Sadly I have first hand experience doing my own importing from China. The reason are seeing a variety of dates is because no one actually can tell you when this will occur. It happens on the day it happens. Not before. Then they can slap labels on them and ship them out. If we are very unlucky they will decide the labels need to be applied in Iowa instead of California adding 2-3 days for truck or rail freight.

Still wondering how Australia got theirs..

Anyway I pledge to post when mine arrives here. Hopefully others will do the same. When the first unit arrives in US hands, THEN I will consider them shipping. Not before.

His ship date might be correct, just hard to accept and believe updates from people that said the plugs would be filled in with bondo !
