Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

I wonder what they will do now with all the cancelled ones, whether they will just put them up for sale direct from TOMY, or whether they will resell them elsewhere.

Assuming they do put them up for sale elsewhere, it'll also be interesting the description they use, since they can't really say it's a perfect replica anymore, or use the prototype pictures.
Give it a couple of months and they'll show up on EBay for $200. That's where I got my MR Klingon Disruptor that was from a bunch found in a warehouse in China $180 !

There, I fixed it for you.:) Well, maybe not $2000 but it is highly unlikely these would go for that little. They would not have any trouble selling the returned ones for the price we paid, I'm sure.

Kind'a like my MR Klingon Disruptor for $189 !

Another one bites the dust.

The photos and comments made by Pebbles and myself have made such an impact on so many customers decisions regarding cancelling.

If we were having the opposite effect, I would've said Tomy owed us a commission due to our significant effect on their sales.

The irony being, that we're both keeping ours.
I'm keeping mine. Wish I had the dough for the MR Enterprise but I just started working out of school so while it was pricey for me then. This may not match the MR int terms of quality It still looks pretty cool. But 600 bucks for this is still a cool deal.

So Tomy just sent out a new email "We've had so many requests for photos of the final NCC-1701 U.S.S. Enterprise, so please see below for the images of the final item" - and proceed to include 5 extremely cropped pictures. None of which show the enormous saucer support. And the lighting is blown out so it minimizes the screw plugs. What? How do they think this will help? End users on this forum took better photos than these official ones.

Really making me swing to cancelling, they are still hiding things. Exactly what I posted back in August.

They should update the production descriptions and photos. But then again, many manufacturers never update their prototype images and continue to sell such goods for sometimes years.

I have to admit....that little bridge is kinda cool. It even shows the steps up to Spocks station...lol

It is. But many are feeling slighted, as promises were continuously made to us.

But after over a decade of collecting figures and statues, I've long grown numb to people making such promises, and after that very first year knew to expect downgrades of various levels when it comes to promoted collectables.

And I took those photos on my old iPhone X, in not a particularly well-lit room. There's simply no excuse nowadays for businesses to provide subpar product images.

Oh yeah I totally understands people's disappointments. Promises were made and not kept. I understand the backlash.

But I own replicas and none of them are perfect. They vary in degree of quality but overall I enjoy them very much.

I just received the Jazzinc Falcon cockpit and I love it! it's huge and it looks great all lit up! Sure it's not entirely accurate and there are some shortcomings. But it does not deter from the awesomeness every time I light her up and play the sounds from the movies!

Me personally I'm not expecting perfection anymore. Everything has it's shortcomings. Unless you got the dough to spend thousands and thousands of dollars for exactly what you want, expect things to always fall a little short of expectations.

I have to say.... even though this fell exceptionally short... they stepped up to the plate and offered refunds up front. I know they had to based upon the videos however, I am glad they did so without a fight. If you have nothing in this scale does this fit the void in your collection? The answer is yes.

I also want to say something about the pitch guys. I bet they were as exceptionally disappointed as the rest of us and maybe they over promised but the manufacturer had its limitations and it is what it is. When it was all said and done the company didn't hide, ship without disclosure. Etc... They did this mistake.....right. I don't think they will forge through with a refit although.

Yeah no refit for sure. I'd be shocked if they went ahead with a refit.

Not necessarily.

Many products that are allocated for Australian shores are shipped directly from China. But it's usually the case that our units are from the second batch onwards and are usually held for shipping until products have shipped out first to their direct customers.
Only there wasn't supposed to be a single item shipped from Tomy to Australia. The US was the only place these were being sold. Hence , to ensure that, Tomy should only be shipping to US addresses. Further Tomy has said the first ship date is Oct 9th. This shouldn't be a second batch- and if it is where are the US customers who got them? They would be the vast majority on a product that was only sold in the US, right?

Update: Perhaps they had so many requests for refunds after the first plug pictures appeared that they dumped units to foreign resellers , with immediate shipment direct , and the resellers just fullfilled the existing orders, while probably havng a "do not retail" date that matches the US ship date?

I expect that these photos also represent the best case scenario of what you will receive too...YMMV.

Yep. I didn't see the plugs in these blown-out photos, at first. Had to really look carefully.

Sneaky, sneaky.

Yes, but as we’ve all speculated, they probably only did that in reaction to our recent photos. Depending on how many this caused to knock at their gates, they simply may not have had a choice in the matter. But it’s definitely great that they’re offering easy refunds.

Though given the images they’ve recently sent out, imo they’re still not being totally upfront/clear about it.

But I am really curious what they would’ve done if Pebble’s and myself hadn’t posted our photos. If only I could warp around the sun to find out
