Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

Here’s where I located the led lights. $30 on Amazon. Color changing. Dimmable. Fit nicely in the stand corners without having to tape them on.

Do they change to a white or soft white??? Purple or blue is a bit much for me. I would not mind using a few of those it they were more like spotlights in spacedock....

Here is the white LED version from the same manufacturer if you don’t need color and don’t want the RGB mix of white light. These are what I have in my previous post mounted on the stand. I’ve lost count but I have at least 50 of these around my collection room all on the same IR frequency.

Jorunhe 1.5w LED Mini Surface Mounted Light Jewelry Cabinet Lamp Spotlight with Online PWM Dimmer (Pack-6,Cold White 6000k) Amazon.com

You can choose from warm or cold temp. The pic shows a manual dimmer pot but they almost always send you the IR receiver and remote. I’ve used these for several years. Mounted in the ceiling, walls, model stands, etc.

Hi Everyone,

I was one of the buyers on eBay. I put myself on the Tomy wait list immediately after seeing an unboxing video, but didn't get that call.

It does have a small chip near the port nacelle, which is visible, but I don't plan to return it. That would be a bit more of a convoluted process as an eBay buyer. With it not being out of the realm of possibility that what I ultimately ended up with having a flaw I'd find more objectionable. (And for something that looks like a 2 second repair if the touch up paint could be procured.)

Truth is I'm thrilled with this model. Seeing that video my jaw dropped. Literally. I think there are a lot of folks who don't regularly follow the collectibles scene, but for whom Star Trek was such an integral part of their lives, but who just had no idea about this project. And who would have jumped to join it. If they had only known. I conveyed all of this to Tomy during a call.

He said they have not decided on what the 3rd related project would be. (I told him I'd seen particular interest in the movie version of the Enterprise online, aka the refit).

First post here. Thanks everyone for the valuable input I've read here.

(Not sure how much this will help, but: Revealing the Colors of the Star Trek Enterprise)

Geez. Who is buying???
There was a lot of controversy from those of us who crowd funded this Enterprise from Tomy but I think the general Star Trek fans have spoken. They love this metal, fully lighted 1:350 scale replica that Tomy have created. Hopefully Tomy realizes this and keeps this line going. The Refit or "D" would do far better. :)

It's like having a childhood friend back! I'm just thrilled to have this Enterprise in my office. I think most Star Trek fans would feel the same way. I hope all the models produced end up with people who can appreciate them.

So it looks like there will be a third project!!!! Man let it be the REFIT!!! I still think that would be a smash hit!!! I think they would easily get 5000 + backers easy!!!!

Oh and sorry you had to go through Ebay to get yours! But am happy to hear you are really happy with yours! : )

Is anybody having a problem with the electronics?

(EDIT: changing the batteries seems to have fixed this, possibly batteries were run down (though really haven’t run it that much). Putting the old batteries back in caused the problem to recur. So BATTERIES…!).

After turning on the secondary hull, with the motors running, after some random period of time (less than 30 secs I guess), both motors turn off, ALL the LEDS on the secondary hull flash 3 times, and then everything turns off.

Batteries should be good (I used my own new alkalines, not the provided ones, and I haven’t really run the electronics that much).

(Lastly…this model is awesome, well worth the $$$. I bought 2, thinking I’d sell one, but gave one to my brother instead). Almost makes me want to tackle the Polar Lights refit that been sitting in the basement for a few years - though I’m realizing the cost of making that kit with add on parts, lighting, etc will probably exceed the cost of the Tomy, plus my skills probably aren’t good enough tbh. So TOMY need to do the refit…)

The bad batteries weren’t the ones that shipped with the Enterprise, were they? Or are you saying that newer batteries failed? Cause those packaged ones are just simply crappy batteries and should have been chucked when the box was opened! :)

****** these prices are just damn crazy!!!! It took years for the MR Enterprise to shoot up in prices!!! LOL People are nuts for this TOMY Enterprise!

Will be interesting to see if it holds. One could sell and commission a nice build at this point.
