Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

As a Hot Toys collector, I can confidently say the company is complete trash and let's not use them as any kind of guide for moral compass. Not only do they perform deceiving practices with paint (original Robocop not being blue unlike the promo), but they re-release and 2.0/3.0 and even change the height of their figures to the point that you will almost guaranteed to lose money if you ever want to resell your "limited edition" figure. Look at the brand new IM Mark 1 diecast. They didnt fix the height when their new mark 3 3.0 is now a different height similar to their older mark IM 3 diecast line. So it’s as if they are going to release a new mark 1 in the future with a height increase. There are so many figures I have worth 50% of their original value due to their BS.
Guess I unintentionally triggered a nerve.

My comment was to the difference here vs Hot Toys in customer acceptance of a final product that is this far off from its prototype. Moral compass? Corporation? Those words don’t make sense in the same sentence.

Got mine all set up, there are some imperfections, but overall, I think it's a great model.

What is with the radial look of the dust streaks on the leading edge of the saucer? It looks like they are aiming in towards the center when they should go straight from front to back. Very pronounced too.

I think they did a great job copying the colours and shading of the original 11’ filming model.

For anyone interested, here’s a picture I took of the original in the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum next to the TOMY model. The shades of blue are almost perfect and to my surprise, the weathering streaks are coloured closely as well. Nicely done, TOMY!

Anyone know if the impulse engines light up? if so how do they turn on?

I think they do. I saw it on one of Trevor's videos. They can be turned off as well. Not sure how to turn them on. Toggle through the button on the saucer see what happens...

All I'm saying that whatever Tomy did here is much more forgiving than what HT did to their customers. They seem to have no clue that people who spends the price of an Xbox on a single plastic figure puts a lot of value in its exclusivity. Tomy did the best they could at the price point they charged. It did not feel like greed, but not financially feasible to fix these models. No one here thinks Tomy is laughing themselves to the bank. In fact most people are hoping this snafu doesnt lose them so much money as it would compromise future projects. HT however will always try to make a buck at the expense of their customers with INTENTIONAL false advertising with their "limited edition" BS.

What imperfections are you seeing?
They may be minor imperfections, but I wonder if mine are unique, or others are seeing the same things. They are all on the bad side so I won't see them when it's displayed. Oh, and the shuttles are ****! And I plan on fixing the stand. They should have included small bottles of touch up paint.

Yeah touch up paint would have been nice. I bet if everyone goes over these things they will find a paint or decal imperfection. Nothing mass produced is ever perfect especially something this large.
